Suns vs Clippers Predictions & Best Bets

Last Updated: Apr 24, 2023

The Suns have taken a commanding 3-1 series lead and can close it out at home on Tuesday night. They have benefitted from the Clippers missing Kawhi Leonard, but you can only play against the team that is in front of you.

Kevin Durant had his best game of the series with 31 points and 11 rebounds in Game 4 and has been flirting with a triple-double in virtually meeting this series.

Let’s dive into the odds and best bets for Game 5 between the Suns and Clippers.

Suns vs Clippers Game 5 Odds

NBA odds used for these best bets are current as of Monday, April 24, at 1 p.m. ET and were found at DraftKings Sportsbook.

  • Moneyline: Suns (-800) • Clippers (+575)
  • Spread: Suns -12 (-110) • Clippers +12 (-110)
  • Total Points: Over 224.5 (-110) • Under 224.5 (-110)

Suns vs Clippers Game 5 Prediction

Suns 118, Clippers 102

After losing Game 1 at home, the Phoenix Suns have now won three straight games, including two on the road. The Clippers are still without Leonard, and if he misses Game 5, this series will be over.

We saw in Game 4 why the Suns are a dangerous team in the West. Devin Booker and Durant each scored 30-plus points and had a combined 13 assists.

However, it’s worth noting that once again, the Suns had limited contributions off the bench, so the starters either played close to or more than 40 minutes.

Suns vs Clippers Game 5 Best Bets

Suns -12 (-110) • DraftKings Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

The Clippers’ three-point shooting cooled off in Game 4, and I don’t expect Norman Powell to have another 40-point game like he did in Game 3. Russell Westbrook has been terrific for the Clippers, but he’s had little to no help without Leonard.

If the Clippers had a healthy Leonard and Paul George, they might’ve pulled off the first-round upset.

Look for the Suns to win Game 5 in convincing fashion at home and move on to the Western Conference semifinals for our NBA bet of the day.

Suns vs Clippers Series Preview

Usually the No. 4 vs No. 5 matchup in the NBA playoffs is the most evenly matched and balanced but that is not the case in the Western Conference. Even though only one game separated the Suns and the Clippers, the Suns are overwhelming favorites to advance to the next round.

The Clippers will be without Paul George for the series, which is a huge loss for the team and Kevin Durant is ready to go for the Suns.

Let’s dive into both teams’ odds to win the series and some props I like for the series.

Suns vs Clippers Series Odds

To Win Series: Suns (-525) • Clippers (+390)

NBA odds used for these best bets are current as of Wednesday, April 12, at 11 a.m. ET and were found at DraftKings Sportsbook.

At the moment, the Suns are the highest favorites to advance to the next round in the Western Conference. A lot of that has to do with the addition of Durant to their team.

Since acquiring Durant, the Suns are 8-0 in the games he has been featured in.

Since Dec. 1, Durant has only lost two of the 24 games he has played in and is averaging 29.1 points per game this season.

The Suns have too much offensive firepower and without George’s defense, it is going to be a tough series for the Clippers. Even if Kawhi Leonard is able to contain Durant, the Suns will just turn to Devin Booker.

The Suns will win this series in four or five games. The Clippers may grab a game at home but it wouldn’t be a surprise if they get swept.

Suns vs Clippers Series Prediction

Suns Win 4-1

The Suns have too much offensive firepower and without George’s defense, it is going to be a tough series for the Clippers. Even if Kawhi Leonard is able to contain Durant, the Suns will just turn to Devin Booker.

The Suns will win this series in four or five games. The Clippers may grab a game at home since the Suns do not have a great road record this season. Phoenix is only 17-24 in away games this season.

Durant’s addition should improve the Suns team but since he’s only played eight games with the team, there might still be some growing pains. The Clippers could take advantage of that as well and steal an extra game.

If George was healthy then this series could go the distance but without his offensive capabilities, this will be an easy series win for the Suns.

Suns vs Clippers Series Best Bets

Scoring Leader: Kevin Durant (+175) • DraftKings Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

My NBA best bet for Clippers vs Suns reflects a stellar value on Durant, who is the best player in this series. He is behind Leonard (+105) to lead the series in points and that might be because of the multiple offensive options on the Suns team.

Durant has averaged 26 points per game with the Suns, so his production has not dramatically decreased after the trade. The Leonard defense might be a worry, but in 14 games against Leonard, Durant has averaged 27.6 points per game, per StatMuse.

Three-Point Leader: Eric Gordon (+550) • DraftKings Sportsbook

WAGER: .5 Units

With George and Marcus Morris sidelined, Gordon has entered the Clippers starting lineup. He is averaging six to seven three-point attempts per game, and the Clipper will be playing catch up in this series, which will result in Gordon attempting more threes.

He is shooting 42.3% from beyond the arc this season, so I love this value on Gordon to lead this series in three-point makes.
