Warriors vs Celtics Predictions for Game 6 | NBA Finals 2024 Best Bets | Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under Picks

Last Updated: Jun 16, 2022

The Golden State Warriors followed up a terrific Game 4 performance with another one in Game 5. They locked down the Boston Celtics en route to a 104-94 win at home. With this victory, the Warriors have taken a 3-2 series lead and are now in position to eliminate the Celtics in Game 6.

Golden State’s win was impressive for numerous reasons. What Warriors fans should feel best about is that they still came out on top despite Stephen Curry‘s dreadful performance. The superstar guard had just 16 points and went 0-for-9 from three-point range, yet Golden State still scored 104 points.

Alternatively, Boston fans should be feeling anxious about Jayson Tatum‘s continued streaky performances. He had an efficient outing in Game 5 upon first glance, but the 24-year-old scored a mere five points in the fourth quarter going 1-of-5 shooting. That’s not going to win you games.

Will Tatum and the Celtics bounce back and force a Game 7? Or will Curry and the Warriors deliver the final blow and win their fourth title since 2015? Here are my predictions and best bets for Game 6 of the 2022 NBA Finals.

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 6 Prediction

As mentioned, the Warriors overcame Curry’s historically poor performance from three-point range and picked up the win. They have Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson to thank for that, who stepped up in what was easily the most important game of the series thus far.

Wiggins continued his impressive play with another double-double, logging a team-high 26 points and a game-best 13 rebounds. He scored 10 of Golden State’s 29 in the fourth quarter and made some big plays on defense that helped the Warriors down the Celtics.

Thompson had one of his best showings of the series so far, logging 21 points and converting five of his 11 three-point attempts. He scored 16 points and went 4-for-5 on three-pointers in the second half alone. Perhaps this was a preview of what we’ll see from ‘Game 6 Klay’ Thursday night.

Unlike the Warriors, the Celtics lacked support from their role players. Derrick White and Grant Williams combined for just four points off the bench, and Al Horford and Robert Williams III logged a total of five points in the second half.

If Boston is going to get back on track at home in Game 6, it’ll need a complete offensive performance from top to bottom. Tatum and Jaylen Brown need to be more efficient, but the Celtics also can’t survive another lackluster showing on the margins.

All of the pressure is on Boston here. The Warriors likely don’t want to have to play in a Game 7, but given that they’ll have home-court advantage in what would be the deciding contest, they have to feel that they’d have the upper hand. If the Celtics don’t match Golden State’s urgency in Game 6, this one is as good as over.

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 6 Score Pick

Warriors 110, Celtics 98

I originally picked the Warriors to win this series in six games, and I’m not backing off of that prediction now. Golden State has all the momentum, and it’s highly unlikely that Curry plays as poorly as he did in Game 5 again. So long as the Warriors get similar support in Game 6, this one will be theirs to lose.

If it does end here for the Celtics, nobody should view this series as a disappointment, either. Boston was barely treading water in January. This turnaround has been remarkable. Ime Udoka will surely have this team back in this spot again soon.

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 6 Best Bets

Warriors Moneyline (+145)

WAGER: 1 Unit

The Warriors are four-point underdogs in Game 6, but seeing as how the average margin of victory in this series is 13.4 points, the moneyline looks like the better bet. If they lose, it’ll likely be by more than four points.

Winning on the road in Game 6 won’t be easy, but Golden State has an absurd amount of experience in this position. They may have been caught off guard earlier in this series, but the Warriors have hardly looked vulnerable since. Bank on them to win the NBA Finals on Thursday, making this our NBA bet of the day.

UNDER 210.5 Total Points (-110)

WAGER: 1 Unit

The Under has hit in all three of Golden State’s wins so far this series. Now that the Warriors have won back-to-back contests, this is the lowest total we’ve had to work with thus far. However, I still like the Under in this spot.

Looking for more ways to bet this NBA Finals series?

Golden State is winning these games on the defensive end of the floor. The Celtics are scoring just 93 points per game in losses. Since I’m rolling with the Warriors to win this one, it only makes sense to pair it with the Under once again.

PREVIOUSLY: Warriors vs Celtics Game 5 Predictions

The Golden State Warriors needed to step up on defense to take down the Boston Celtics on the road, and in Game 4, they got it done. The Warriors held the Celtics under 100 points on Friday night and escaped Boston with a 107-97 victory.

Now even at two games apiece, the series returns to Golden State for a pivotal Game 5. One team will come within one win of securing the 2022 NBA title, while the other will be put on the brink of elimination.

If the first four games of this series are any indication of what’s to come, then Game 5 could be the best contest of the NBA Finals thus far. The Warriors enter as favorites, but this hard-nosed Celtics squad won’t go down easy.

Here’s how I see Game 5 of the 2022 NBA Finals playing out.

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 5 Odds

NBA Finals odds are current as of Saturday, June 11, at 10 a.m. ET and provided by Caesars Sportsbook.

  • Moneyline: Warriors (-160), Celtics (+140)
  • Spread: Warriors -3.5 (-110), Celtics +3.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: Over 212.5 (-110), Under 212.5 (-110)
  • Implied Score: Warriors 108, Celtics 104.5

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 5 Prediction

The Warriors got the defensive performance they needed in Game 4, holding Boston to just 97 points in the win. Jayson Tatum still led the way for the Celtics with 23 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists, but the young star went just 8-for-23 (34.8%) from the field and committed six costly turnovers, as well.

Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, and Derrick White all scored at least 16 points for Boston, but none of them were particularly efficient. Brown converted 47.4% of his attempts, though Smart and White each shot below 39% from the field.

Offensively, the Warriors got masterful performances from Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins. Curry erupted for 43 points — his third-highest scoring playoff performance of his career — and added 10 rebounds and four assists just for good measure. Wiggins double-doubled with 17 points and a career-high 16 rebounds.

Golden State also got necessary support from Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole, who combined for 32 points in the victory. Thompson had some big moments on defense as well, especially down the stretch of the fourth quarter.

Moving forward in this series, it’s clear that the Warriors need to win on the defensive end of the floor if they’re going to earn another NBA title. Players not named Stephen Curry have struggled to stay consistent against this Boston team.

If Golden State can bring the pressure at home in Game 5, this team will put itself in an excellent position to close out the series in Game 6 in Boston.

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 5 Score Pick

Warriors 105, Celtics 94

The pattern in each of Golden State’s victories in this series is defense. In wins, the Warriors are allowing just 92.5 points per game. In losses, Boston is averaging 118 points and shooting close to 50% from the field.

Fortunately for the Warriors, they’re more than capable of maintaining this defensive pressure. Golden State ranked first in defensive rating and held opponents to just 105.5 points per game during the regular season. If the Celtics can’t figure out a way around this unit, they’ll find themselves in a 3-2 hole heading back to Boston.

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 5 Best Bets

Warriors Cover -3.5 Spread (-110)

WAGER: 1 Unit

The Warriors finally lost a home playoff game earlier in this series, but that doesn’t mean we should ignore the bulk of what they’ve accomplished at home this postseason. Golden State is still an impressive 10-1 at Chase Center, signifying that its home-court advantage is second to none.

The Warriors moneyline is available at (-160) odds, but that’s not a great value considering how each game of this series has gone so far: All four contests have been decided by at least 10 points. If you’re siding with the Warriors, you might as well opt for the better price and take them to cover the spread, making this our NBA bet of the day.

UNDER 212.5 Total Points (-110)

WAGER: 1 Unit

Warriors wins and Unders have gone hand-in-hand so far in this series, so I’ll be sticking with that pattern for Game 5. This total is slightly lower than the one we got in Game 4, but I’m comfortable siding with the Under here.

Looking for more ways to bet this NBA Finals series?

In Warriors wins, the total in this series comes in at an average of 199.5 points. That’s well below the 212.5 total that’s been set for Game 5. I think Golden State will run away with this one in the second half, and their defense will carry them there.

PREVIOUSLY: Warriors vs Celtics Game 4 Prediction

After getting blown out on the road in Game 2, the Boston Celtics returned home for Game 3 and defeated the Golden State Warriors in convincing fashion. Boston dominated Golden State from start to finish — save for a Warriors run in the third quarter — en route to a 116-100 victory.

The Celtics now hold a 2-1 series lead and are two wins away from taking the 2022 NBA Finals. They’ll also have the benefit of playing Game 4 at home, which gives them a significant upper hand in what is undoubtedly a must-win game for the Warriors.

Will Golden State be able to bounce back and even up the series at two games apiece? Or will Boston take a commanding 3-1 series lead and but the Warriors on the brink of elimination?

Here’s how I see Game 4 of the 2022 NBA Finals playing out.

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 4 Odds

NBA Finals odds are current as of Friday, June 10, at 3 p.m. ET and provided by Caesars Sportsbook.

  • Moneyline: Warriors (+145), Celtics (-170)
  • Spread: Warriors +4 (-110), Celtics -4 (-110)
  • Over/Under: Over 214 (-110), Under 214 (-110)
  • Implied Score: Warriors 105, Celtics 109

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 4 Prediction

The Celtics looked like a different group in Game 3. Overwhelming the Warriors from the jump, Boston had a terrific all-around performance and looked like the better team for the first time in the series. It couldn’t have come at a better time for them, either.

The key for the Celtics was the play of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart. Each member of the trio recorded at least 24 points, six rebounds, and five assists, and all sank at least three shots from beyond the arc, as well.

Additionally, Boston got strong performances from Al Horford and Robert Williams III, who dominated the glass and used their size to their advantage. Williams was particularly effective on defense, recording seven combined steals and blocks.

Golden State got 74 points from the trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Andrew Wiggins, but the support was lacking otherwise. Draymond Green fouled out and struggled to make his usual impact on both ends of the floor, and the bench scored just 18.

If the Warriors are going to win Game 4, they’ll need a better defensive effort across the board and a more consistent performance from Green. Whether they can do that on the road remains to be seen — Golden State has struggled in this spot in the playoffs — but it’s something they’ll have to do to avoid falling in a 3-1 hole.

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 4 Score Pick

Warriors 108, Celtics 119

I’ve been waiting to see if the Celtics could control a game in this series from start to finish, and on Wednesday night, they did so. The Warriors will come prepared for Game 4 and get a better all-around effort, but in a hostile arena against a team as complete as Boston, it may not be enough.

I came into this series thinking the Warriors would end it in six games, and while that’s still possible, the Celtics have made me a believer. They have all the momentum right now, and although this is an inexperienced group, I think they’ll extend their lead to two games when it’s all said and done Friday night.

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 4 Best Bets

Celtics Cover -4 Spread (-110)

WAGER: 1 Unit

We can bet the Celtics to win outright at (-170), but seeing as how both of their wins in this series have come by at least 12 points, taking them to cover a four-point spread at (-110) isn’t a bad bargain. After all, the average margin of victory in this series is 15.6 points.

Boston has clearly shown that it can handle this Golden State group. They’ll get a significant lift from their home crowd again in Game 4, and as long as Tatum and Brown get the support they need, the Celtics will cover this spread with ease.

Back Boston to show out in Game 4 and make this your NBA bet of the day.

OVER 214 Total Points (-110)

WAGER: 1 Unit

The Over has gone 2-1 in this series, easily clearing the totals in Games 1 and 3. As a result, it’s been bumped up a few marks to 214.5 points, which these two teams just barely met Wednesday night. Even still, I’m confident that the Over will hit again in Game 4.

Looking for more ways to bet this NBA Finals series?

Golden State’s offense was far from perfect in Game 3 — the Warriors scored just 11 points in the fourth quarter — and it was still enough to carry the contest to the Over. They’ll be better in Game 4, so as long as Boston can get somewhere in the ballpark of 110 points (which they’ve done twice in this series), the Over should hit again.

PREVIOUSLY: Warriors vs Celtics Game 3 Prediction

Following their devastating collapse in the fourth quarter of Game 1, the Golden State Warriors turned a corner in Game 2 and defeated the Boston Celtics 107-88 to even up the NBA Finals at one game apiece.

For the Warriors, it was a dominant second-half effort that carried them to victory. Up just two points at halftime, Golden State outscored Boston by 21 points in the third quarter before getting their stars some rest in the final frame. Stephen Curry did not log a single second in the fourth.

Boston scored a playoff-low 88 points in the effort and committed 18 turnovers. Jayson Tatum led the Celtics in scoring with 28, but he also posted a game-worst -36 plus/minus rating. Jaylen Brown (17) and Derrick White (12) were the only other Celtics to score in double-figures.

With the series heading to Boston, the Celtics will look to recapture momentum on their home floor after getting blown out in Game 2. Here are our best bets and predictions for Game 3 of the 2022 NBA Finals.

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 3 Odds

NBA Finals odds are current as of Wednesday, June 8, at 11 a.m. ET and provided by Caesars Sportsbook.

  • Moneyline: Warriors (+140), Celtics (-160)
  • Spread: Warriors +3.5 (-110), Celtics -3.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: Over 212 (-110), Under 212 (-110)
  • Implied Score: Warriors 104.25, Celtics 107.75

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 3 Prediction

Golden State had a complete performance from start to finish in Game 2, and lo and behold, they easily defeated the Celtics. Save for the Warriors’ embarrassing performance in the final frame of Game 1, they’ve now looked like the better team every step of the way in this series.

The difference so far has been Curry, who is averaging an efficient 31.5 points across roughly 35 minutes per game. He’s been red-hot from beyond the arc, converting 46.2% of his 13 attempts per game. Boston simply hasn’t had an answer for the superstar.

Time will tell if Golden State can keep this up away from home. The Warriors have gone just 3-4 on the road so far this postseason. However, Boston has been better as the away team, going 8-3 on the road and 5-4 at TD Garden.

If the Celtics are to get back on track in Game 3, they’ll need a better all-around showing from their role players. Al Horford and Marcus Smart combined to score just four points after scoring 44 in Game 1, and although Derrick White scored 12 off the bench, he went just 4-of-13 from the field and turned the ball over three times.

I’m expecting Boston to bounce back offensively in Game 3, but I don’t know that it’ll be enough to swing the series back in their favor.

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 3 Score Pick

Warriors 115, Celtics 107

The Celtics will find their rhythm in Game 3. They may even lead for a good chunk of the contest. But until they can find a way to put consistent pressure on the Warriors, namely by neutralizing them in the third quarter, I have a hard time believing that they’ll be able to come out on top here.

Boston’s 24-point smackdown in the fourth quarter of Game 1 is looking increasingly like an outlier. Game 3 isn’t necessarily a “must-win" game, but they can’t afford to potentially be facing a 3-1 deficit when the series returns to the Bay, either. Winning at least one of the two games in Boston is crucial.

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 3 Best Bets

Warriors Moneyline (+140)

WAGER: 1 Unit

Picking the Warriors to cover in this spot looks like the safer bet, but we can’t ignore the value that the moneyline presents here. Golden State would likely be up 2-0 in this series had it not been for their collapse in Game 1, and everything else this team has done on offense so far is sustainable.

Boston’s struggles at home are also a bit concerning, as is the inconsistent play of the team’s role players. Until the Celtics prove that they can go toe-to-toe with Golden State from wire to wire, I’ll be riding with the Warriors, making this our NBA bet of the day.

OVER 212 Total Points (-110)

WAGER: 1 Unit

The Under easily hit in Game 2, with Boston and Golden State combining to score just 195 points. As a result, the total has been bumped down a few notches to 212 entering Game 3. There’s no denying that they can hit this mark, the total in Game 1 was 228, and each team is prone to offensive outbursts.

Looking for more ways to bet this NBA Finals series?

The Warriors have had a tougher time scoring on the road this postseason, but unless Curry cools down significantly, they should still be able to do their part to help hit the Over in this game. After all, they scored 107 points in Game 2, and Klay Thompson went just 4-of-19 from the field in the win.

PREVIOUSLY: Warriors vs Celtics Game 2 Prediction

Game 1 between the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics was an instant classic. The Warriors controlled for most of the night, leading by as many as 15 points before taking a 12-point advantage into the final frame. However, that’s where their dominance came to a screeching halt.

The Celtics absolutely dominated the fourth quarter, outscoring Golden State 40-16 and going on a 20-2 run to take a commanding lead down the stretch. The Warriors couldn’t land a punch when it mattered most, and Boston couldn’t miss.

As a result, the Celtics have taken a surprising 1-0 lead in the NBA Finals. Golden State was previously 9-0 at home this postseason, and although they were only slight favorites in Game 1, the Warriors were widely expected to come out on top.

Can the Warriors bounce back, or will the Celtics come out strong and take a commanding 2-0 lead? Read on for our best bets and predictions for Game 2 of the NBA Finals.

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 2 Odds

NBA Finals odds are current as of Friday, June 3, at 10 a.m. ET and provided by Caesars Sportsbook.

  • Moneyline: Warriors (-190), Celtics (+160)
  • Spread: Warriors -4 (-110), Celtics +4 (-110)
  • Over/Under: Over 215.5 (-110), Under 215.5 (-110)
  • Implied Score: Warriors 109.75, Celtics 105.75

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 2 Prediction

Plenty of things happened in Game 1 that we probably shouldn’t expect to continue as the series goes on. For one, Celtics star Jayson Tatum struggled mightily from the floor, shooting just 3-of-17 overall in a 12-point performance. He also notched a career-high 13 assists.

Boston also got plenty of support from Al Horford and Derrick White, who combined for 47 points on 11-of-16 shooting from three-point range. Each has played very well for the Celtics this postseason, but these were two above-average performances, and Golden State is going to find ways to adjust.

The Warriors, on the other hand, struggled to get that same level of support. Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins combined for 54 points, but Klay Thompson finished with just 15, and Jordan Poole was abysmal off the bench. Draymond Green also went just 2-of-12 from the field — a sign that he must reduce his volume.

In Game 2, I’m expecting a bounce-back scoring performance from Tatum. He won’t stay this cold forever, and the Warriors must prepare for that by applying constant pressure.

I’m also looking for Horford and White to cool down a bit — White less so — and for Boston to be less efficient from deep as a group.

Additionally, I’m anticipating a more consistent effort from Golden State from start to finish. The Warriors have been one of the best fourth-quarter teams in the NBA this season, and after getting blown out in the final frame in Game 1, they should be especially motivated to return to form.

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 2 Score Pick

Warriors 107, Celtics 102

Game 2 will be closer throughout — I don’t think either team will lead by more than 10 points — but Golden State will come away with a win to tie this series up before it heads to Boston.

The Warriors have simply been too good at home this postseason, and while the Celtics’ fourth-quarter showing was incredible, it’s unlikely that we get a repeat performance. This will be a back-and-forth contest that Golden State ultimately wins, though it may not be in the most convincing fashion.

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 2 Best Bets

Warriors Cover -4 Spread (-110)

WAGER: 1 Unit

The Warriors moneyline (-190) is hardly a good value, so I’ll be going with Golden State to cover the spread in Game 2 instead. It might seem counterintuitive — especially since they just blew a significant lead down the stretch of Game 1 — but I’m confident that the Warriors will be focused throughout in Game 2.

Golden State led by as many as 12 points in the final frame in Game 1 before Boston went on its scoring barrage. I think fans of both teams would agree that we’re not likely to see such a stretch again in Game 2, which means we should see a more balanced effort from the Warriors and Celtics throughout.

The Warriors are the slightly better team, and securing a win on their home floor in Game 2 will be crucial if they’re to win this series. It’ll be close, but I like Golden State against the spread, making this our NBA bet of the day.

UNDER 215.5 Total Points (-110)

WAGER: 1 Unit

Golden State and Boston easily surpassed the total in Game 1, which opened at 211.5 points. As a result, the total has been adjusted to 215.5 points ahead of Game 2. And although we know that these teams are obviously capable of clearing this bar, I like the Under here.

Looking for more ways to bet this NBA Finals series?

The Warriors and Celtics were both carried by the strength of their respective defenses during the regular season. Golden State had the best defensive rating in the league, and Boston finished right behind them at No. 2. It only makes sense that this series would begin to trend toward the Under after a high-scoring opener.

PREVIOUSLY: Warriors vs Celtics Game 1 Prediction

The NBA Finals are finally here, and this year’s matchup has the potential to be one of the best we’ve seen in recent years. The Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics are set to begin their series on Thursday, June 2.

The Warriors were destined to return to this point since the beginning of the season. Now that Golden State has its core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green back together, there was no standing in this team’s way.

The road was much more uncertain for the Celtics, who were just 25-25 in late January. However, a surge during the second half of the season and some impressive playoff performances have carried Boston to its first NBA Finals appearance since 2010.

With the series opener on the horizon, here are our predictions and best bets for Game 1.

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 1 Odds

NBA Finals odds are current as of Tuesday, May 31 at 11 a.m. ET and provided by Caesars Sportsbook.

  • Moneyline: Warriors (-160), Celtics (+140)
  • Spread: Warriors -3.5 (-110), Celtics +3.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: Over 211.5 (-110), Under 211.5 (-110)
  • Implied Score: Warriors 107.5, Celtics 104

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 1 Prediction

The Celtics have pulled off some surprising feats on the road this postseason, but the task that lies ahead of them in Game 1 is rather daunting. Not only has Golden State gone a perfect 9-0 at home in these playoffs, but the Warriors have also gone 21-2 in Game 1’s dating back to the 2015 postseason.

Golden State comes prepared. That much is inevitable. The home crowd at Chase Center is also deafening, and we can bet that the fans will create a difficult environment for Boston to play in now that the Warriors are hosting their first NBA Finals game since 2019.

One key factor that will determine the outcome of this game is Boston’s three-point shooting. The Celtics haven’t hesitated to fire away from deep in this postseason, taking at least 31 three-point attempts in each contest and averaging 37.1 per game. When they shoot better than 36%, they’re 7-1 in these playoffs.

It will also be interesting to see how the Warriors handle Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Warriors All-Star Andrew Wiggins has been terrific defensively this postseason, but Golden State will need all hands on deck to slow down this duo. The health of Gary Payton II looms large here.

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 1 Score Pick

Warriors 112, Celtics 105

Regardless of how well Tatum and Brown perform, Game 1 feels like Golden State’s to lose. The Warriors are historically great in this spot, and they’ve had significantly more rest coming into this contest than the Celtics have.

Game 1 will be close throughout, but I believe the Warriors will build some distance in the second half and control the contest in the fourth quarter en route to a 1-0 series lead.

Warriors vs Celtics NBA Finals Game 1 Best Bets

Warriors Moneyline (-160)

WAGER: 2 Units

Trends play a big role in sports betting, and we have an incredible one here. The Warriors are 21-2 in Game 1’s under Steve Kerr, which dates back to the 2014-15 playoffs. The only two teams to beat them are the 2016 Oklahoma City Thunder and 2019 Toronto Raptors.

This is a great Celtics team, and Boston has been better on the road this postseason, but it’s impossible to bet against a trend like this. You can get better odds by betting the Warriors to cover the 3.5-point spread, but the moneyline looks like the much safer wager, making this our NBA bet of the day.

OVER 211.5 Total Points (-110)

WAGER: 1 Unit

The Warriors and Celtics were the two best teams in the NBA this season in terms of defensive rating, and as such, the total for Game 1 is set at 211.5 points. Oddsmakers are clearly expecting a lower-scoring, slow-paced game, but I feel this total has been set too low.

Looking for more ways to bet this NBA Finals series?

Golden State’s offense has reached a new level this postseason, and Boston has been susceptible to huge runs. The Over may not hit comfortably, but these two teams are more than capable of reaching it.
