The Philadelphia Phillies took a 2-1 series lead on Tuesday after defeating the Houston Astros 7-0 in Game 3 of the World Series. Philly tied a World Series record with five home runs to secure the win, with all five coming off Astros left-hander Lance McCullers Jr.
Game 4 will feature Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola taking on 25-year-old Cristian Javier.
Let’s look at current betting odds and determine the best bets and props for Game 4 between the Phillies and Astros.
Astros vs Phillies Game 3 Odds
After the Phillies’ victory on Tuesday, Game 4 is a near toss-up with Houston listed as a razor thing favorite on the road. The Over/Under is currently set at 7.5 runs.

Astros vs Phillies Game 4 Prediction
Astros 4, Phillies 3
The Astros will put their trust in right-hander Cristian Javier in what has become the most important game of the season for Houston. The 25-year-old has made just 45 starts at the major league level. However, the Dominican is well-equipped to deal with the situation.
Javier may lack overall experience in the postseason, by he did allow just one single over 5 1/3 innings in the ALCS versus the New York Yankees. Houston’s right-hander posted a 2.54 ERA this season with a 0.95 WHIP over 148 2/3 frames with a 13 K/9 during the playoffs.
The current Phillies lineup has little to no familiarity with Javier, with Brandon Marsh (4-for-7) being the only player to log over two at-bats versus the right-hander.
On the other side, Nola will get the ball for Philadelphia after allowing five runs over 4 1/3 innings to Houston in Game 1.
The 29-year-old will hope for better results this time out but will need to be extra careful pitching to gold glove winner Kyle Tucker. The outfielder blasted a pair of home runs off Nola in Game 1, going 3-for-5 with four RBI.
It’s difficult to imagine Nola turning in two poor performances in a row, but then again, the Astros have already proven they can get to the right-hander. Meanwhile, Javier has the advantage of pitching to a majority of the Phillies lineup for the first time.
This series has been difficult to predict so far, but I am going to pick Houston to tie the series up at two games a piece on Wednesday.
There may also be an opportunity to place a NRFI bet on Game 4 between the Astros and Phillies.

As mentioned above, this series has been difficult to predict. However, Javier should have the advantage in Game 4 within most of the Phillies lineup unfamiliar with the right-hander.
I would not be surprised to see a strong bounce back from Nola, but after Game 1, the Astros have a fresh look at his repertoire.
Look for the Astros to tie the series at 2-2 in Game 4.

Tucker was 3-for-5 with two home runs in Game 1 against Nola, so far be it for me to bet against the Astros’ star outfielder.
