France vs Denmark World Cup Predictions

Last Updated: Nov 26, 2022

The top two teams from Group D will face off on Nov. 26 in their second match of the World Cup. This showdown will most likely decide who will emerge as the group leader heading into the knockout stage.

France defeated the Socceroos in convincing fashion to open their World Cup by a score of 4-1, while the Danish Dynamite failed to reach the back of the net in their showdown with Tunisha, which ended in a scoreless draw.

Denmark is one of the dark horses in this tournament after their inspiring run to the semifinals of the 2020 Euros following the scary collapse by Christian Eriksen in their group stage match of that tournament

Will the French continue their World Cup dominance? Can Denmark knock off the reigning World Champions?

Let’s dive in on the best bets for France vs Denmark.

France vs Denmark Prediction

France 1-1 Denmark

This is going to be a back-and-forth game between the two sides. They will be expected to defeat Australia and Tunisia in their other two matches so they might focus more on not conceding than pushing to score goals. Expect a slow-paced barn burner in this contest.

France vs Denmark Betting Tips

This will be a very close matchup without a lot of great scoring chances. Denmark has one of the most disciplined backlines in the World and have had France’s number in recent games. They have beaten France in their last two matches conceding only one goal and holding France to a 0-0 draw during the group stage of the 2018 World Cup.

Denmark also beat France 2-0 in the 2002 World Cup but France won 2-1 in the 1998 World Cup. The two nations have a lot of history with the edge siding with France who are 8-6-2 all-time against the Danish but it has been a very even battle.

The Danish Dynamite will look to be this year’s Croatia, a team that was completely overlooked but talented across the board and very well coached. History is also not on France’s side as there has not been a repeat World Cup champion since Brazil won it in 1958 and 1962.

The big losses for France will be Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema, Paul Pogba, and arguably their best player from the 2018 World Cup, N’Golo Kanté. The Danes will be the more fit team leading into this contest but the status of Andreas Christensen will be one to monitor as he has been sidelined from Barcelona’s games with an ankle injury but is said not to be severe.

This will be a low-scoring game with two very disciplined and talented defensive sides. They will both look to control possession in the middle of the game and the quality goal-scoring chances will be very few. France has a slight edge in this contest because Kylian Mbappé can change the game in an instant but he will be the focal point of the Danish defense in this contest.

France vs Denmark Best Bets

Draw No Bet: Denmark (+175)

WAGER: 1 Unit

The Danes can definitely pull off the upset in this match but this bet is a good hedge in the event it ends in a draw. The French have not been in great form in international play leading up to the World Cup. Their star players from the 2018 World Cup besides Mbappé are either not fit this year or declining such as Antoine Griezmann.

Back the Danes to stay competitive in this match.
