Poland vs Argentina World Cup Predictions

Poland will conclude their Group C fixtures against one of the tournament favorites in Argentina. It’s often best to face the top team last because there’s a chance they have already clinched top spot in the group.

It’ll be a match that features two world class talents in Robert Lewandowski and Lionel Messi. Poland will have their hands full with a well-rounded Argentine side seeking to make its return to the World Cup finals after losing to Germany in Brazil 2014.

If Poland get positive results in their first two matches against Mexico and Saudi Arabia, they could only require a draw in order to secure a berth in the knockout stage. You’ll likely see them “park the bus" to hold off Argentina’s formidable attack in this match.

Let’s dive in to uncover the best bets for Poland and Argentina.

Poland vs Argentina Odds

  • 3-way handicap: Argentina (-160) | Draw (+280) | Poland (+360)
  • Draw No Bet: Argentina (-370) | Poland (+245)
  • Over/Under Goals: Over 2.5 (+100) | Under 2.5 (-140)
  • Both Teams to Score: Yes (-104) | No (-122)

Poland vs Argentina odds are current as of 2 p.m. EST on Oct. 31.

Argentina isn’t as highly favored as you might have expected in this match, which highlights how this could potentially be a meaningless game. If Argentina win their first two matches — a likely scenario — there’s a good chance that they’ll have already clinched first place in this group.

That means that there’s some nice value on the Draw, as it’s much more likely that Poland will have to secure at least a point here in order to advance out of this group. The total is juiced toward the Under, which is because Argentina has a much-improved defense this time around.

Poland vs Argentina Prediction

Poland 1:1 Argentina

I’m betting on Argentina having nothing to play for in this match, which could result in them resting a few key players, particularly veterans like Messi and Ángel Di María. This would open the door for Poland to potentially secure a point from an Argentine side that is merely gearing up for their Round of 16 match.

While Argentina have a stout defense anchored by Lisandro Martínez and Cristian Romero, Lewandowski is the best striker in the world, capable of penetrating any backline. I like Poland to get on the scoresheet in this match, especially if Argentina are resting some players.

Argentina come in top form, currently unbeaten in their last 35 matches. Even in a game that likely won’t matter for them, I certainly don’t expect them to lose. They’re the superior side here, but Poland has the firepower to keep it close.

Poland have been mediocre in the matches leading up to the World Cup, going 2-1-3 in six fixtures in Nations League, including two losses to Belgium and one to Netherlands. The good news for them is that Lewandowski is lighting up La Liga for Barcelona, coming in at top form for what is likely his final World Cup.

Look for Poland to pull off the surprise draw here with Argentina likely resting their players.

Poland vs Argentina Betting Tips

  • Lewandowski comes in at top form for Poland.
  • Poland have lost three of their last five matches.
  • Argentina is currently on a 35-game unbeaten streak.
  • Argentina should rest their players in this match if they defeat Mexico and Saudi Arabia in their first two fixtures.

Poland vs Argentina Best Bets

Draw (+280) at FanDuel Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

It’s hard to feel confident betting on Poland to win outright, so we’ll go with the Draw. Argentina would need to draw or lose against Mexico or Saudi Arabia for this to be considered a meaningful game for them, and I simply don’t see that happening.

Look for Poland to get the much-needed result, counting their blessings that they got to face Argentina in the final match of the group stage.

Poland +1 (-105) at FanDuel Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

We don’t have to pay an expensive price to get Poland at +1, so I’ll add that to this list in the outside chance that they win outright, causing the Draw bet to end up as a loss.

If Poland loses, it’s hard to see it being by two or more goals considering that there likely won’t be much at stake for Argentina in this match.
