Chelsea and Arsenal are two teams trending in opposite directions. After Chelsea’s embarrassing loss to Brentford a few weeks ago, they rebounded with a 6-0 victory over Southampton and a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace in the FA Cup Semifinal.
They however did not qualify for the semifinals of the Champions League after blowing a 3-0 lead in the 2nd leg against Real Madrid and only winning 3-2 but losing the aggregate 5-4. Despite this loss they played very good soccer and put themselves in a position to advance after a bad showing in the first leg.
Arsenal were in the drivers seat to secure a Top 4 spot in the Premier League but have now lost 3 straight games to Southampton, Brighton and Crystal Palace. They now trail Tottenham by 3 points and are tied for 5th with Manchester United but have a game in hand.

I’m surprised the ML odds for Chelsea to win this game are only -112 after both teams’ recent games. Chelsea does have the midfield and attacking depth to rotate players if they are struggling with fatigue after just playing on Sunday.
The two sides haven’t played since August when Chelsea came away with a 2-0 victory at the Emirates. Chelsea is in a weird spot in the Premier League table where they’re enough points ahead of 4th and 5th but just too far away from Liverpool and City at the top. They’re pretty much locked in as finished 3rd in the EPL this season.
Chelsea should win this game at home and Arsenal might be looking ahead to their crucial tie against Manchester United on the weekend.

Chelsea should win this game and should be a low-scoring affair. Arsenal haven’t scored more than 1 goal since March 13 when they beat Leicester City 2-0. They haven’t been able to capitalize on chances and their lack of a true No.9 striker is showing every game.
Mason Mount and the Chelsea attack are in fantastic form right now and will be able to score against this Arsenal defense who will be without Kieran Tierney, who will most likely miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury.
The Arsenal back line won’t be able to hold for a whole 90 minutes and Chelsea will get their 3 points at home against Arsenal.
