Jordan Davis Scouting Report & Fantasy Football Outlook

Last Updated: Apr 28, 2022

The Eagles traded up to get the best run defender in the 2022 NFL Draft class, shipping four draft choices to the Texans for the rights to take Davis. He has drawn comparisons to Haloti Ngata, which means he could become one of the premier space eaters and run stoppers in the NFL.

Jordan Davis NFL Draft Outlook

The Eagles ranked ninth in the NFL in run defense last season, and adding Davis makes them even better in that regard. Philadelphia doesn’t get much pass rush help by drafting Davis, though. He is regarded as a superb run defender, but there are doubts about his ability to push the pocket and get to opposing quarterbacks.

Listed at 6-foot-6 and 341 pounds, Davis is going to force many opponents to employ double teams against him. He joins an organization that has been consistently stout on the defensive line, and he will be surrounded by other veterans who will help take some pressure off him.

The Eagles parted with a major haul to get Davis, but he will be a rock in he middle of their defensive line for a long time.

Jordan Davis Fantasy Football IDP Tips

Players such as Davis don’t make much a of a dent fantasy-wise in IDP formats. He may register a decent amount of tackles for a defensive lineman, but a lack of sacks will leave him off the fantasy radar. His fantasy contributions will come more on the offensive side, as running backs that face the Eagles could see their upside capped on a consistent basis.

Jordan Davis Scouting Report

Strengths

  • Ideal size and power, and can both shed blockers and toss them aside.
  • Occupies multiple blockers to open up playmaking opportunities for his teammates.

Weaknesses

  • Not much of a pass rusher, as he had only two sacks in 2021.
