Popular content creator turned boxer Jake Paul and the legendary Mike Tyson will finally go at it at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Friday, Nov. 15, at 8 p.m. ET. This was supposed to take place in July but was rescheduled due to an ulcer flare-up for Tyson.
What’s unique about the Paul vs Tyson fight is that it will be live-streamed on Netflix instead of your usual pay-per-view format. They will also use 14-ounce gloves instead of the standard 10-ounce that we usually see in heavyweight bouts.
It’s going to be interesting to see how the 58-year-old Tyson will fare in his first sanctioned fight in 19 years. Paul, now 27 years old, has a 10-1 record, winning both of his fights this year.
With that in mind, let’s dive into my Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson best bets and predictions.
Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson Fight Odds
Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson betting lines are current as of Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 3 p.m. ET, at DraftKings Sportsbook.
- To Win: Jake Paul (-210) • Mike Tyson (+170)
- Will Paul vs Tyson go the distance? No (-195) • Yes (+140)
The boxing betting market has Paul as the slight favorite over Tyson in this bout. This isn’t surprising considering the age difference.
Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson Prediction
Paul defeats Tyson (Decision)
There are three important factors with this fight for me.
The first is that this is a heavyweight fight with no maximum weight restrictions. The minimum weight is 200 pounds, which will be a change for Paul, since he’s always fought between 180 and 200 pounds. Paul is aiming to weigh in at 220 for this one, so that could have an effect on this outcome.
The next factor for me is that this will be eight rounds instead of the usual 10, and two minutes instead of three, which makes it easier for the fight to go the distance. Add in the fact that it’s Tyson’s first sanctioned fight in 19 years, and we could see some rust in this one.
All things considered, I’m leaning toward Paul here.
Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson Best Bets
Paul defeats Tyson: Points or Decision (+280)
DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit
As mentioned above, the fact that this is eight rounds instead of 10 makes me like targeting a decision here. It’s hard to back Tyson considering the age difference and how long it’s been since he’s gotten in the ring for a legitimate fight.
At (+280) odds, we’re getting good value on Paul to get it done by decision.
