Cowboys vs Eagles Predictions | Saturday Night Football NFL Pick of the Day

Posted: Jan 4, 2022Last updated: Jan 7, 2022

Both the Cowboys and the Eagles are playoff-bound in 2022 after each team missed the playoffs last season. The Cowboys have locked up the NFC East, while the Eagles have clinched a Wild Card spot.

This game has been flexed to Saturday night, but the importance of this game is debatable. The Cowboys can only move up in the standings if they win and both the Arizona Cardinals and the Los Angeles Rams lose in Week 18. But with the division on the line for those two teams, that seems unlikely.

Meanwhile, the Eagles can only climb up to the No. 6 seed in the NFC, so it makes sense that both teams will rest some starters and try to get through this game as healthy as possible. However, this is still a divisional game in primetime, so you know there will still be some energy from both sides.

Let’s dive into our Week 18 preview and the best bets for this Saturday Night Football matchup.

Please note that all NFL Week 18 game odds and lines are current as of 3:00 p.m. on January 7, 2022.

Saturday Night Football Prediction Week 18

Without much to gain, the Cowboys seem more likely to rest players on the road than the Eagles. However, it does feel likely that the Cowboys will give their starters at least a few series on both sides of the ball to stay in rhythm.

Dallas is also coming off a Week 17 loss to the Cardinals, so you know that the Cowboys will want to gain some positive momentum going into the playoffs.

The Eagles are the better bet here regardless of whether they rest their starters or not. They are running the ball extremely well and have to be excited that they are making the playoffs in the first year of Nick Sirianni’s rebuild.

Look for the Eagles to come out with more energy and intensity and get their tenth win of the season at home.

Prediction: Eagles 21, Cowboys 13

Saturday Night Football Best Bets Week 18

Best Bet: Eagles +4 (-109) at TwinSpires

Wager: 1 Unit

The Eagles are a home underdog, which doesn’t make much sense here. The Cowboys are likely to be very cautious with their older team, especially Dak Prescott, as he’s dealt with multiple injuries this season. It also makes sense for the Eagles to play Jalen Hurts only a few series before eventually having him sit down.

Both teams will likely run the ball a lot to try to get out of this game as healthy as possible to be ready for Round 1 of the NFL playoffs. For that reason, the Eagles are the better play against the spread, as they should win outright. But if this game does end up being close, getting 4 points could be the difference.

Best Bet: Under 43.5 Points (-114) at TwinSpires

Wager: 1 Unit

With the playoffs locked up for both of these two teams, it feels likely that we will see a lot of backups in this game. It seems likely that Cooper Rush and Gardner Minshew could even make an appearance after both quarterbacks play a few series.

This game probably won’t be pretty, and you can expect a fairly low-scoring game. Take the Under here and look for both teams to struggle to score more than 20 points.
