Sunday Night Football Predictions Week 13 | SNF Picks & Broncos vs Chiefs Best Bets

Last Updated: Dec 5, 2021

The AFC West is extremely tight right now with the 7-4 Kansas City Chiefs leading the division by one game over the other three teams, all of whom are 6-5. The Chiefs will try to give themselves some breathing room this week when they host the division-rival Denver Broncos for Sunday Night Football.

Kansas City has surged from worst to first in the AFC West over the past month with four straight wins, including victories over two of the NFL’s best teams in the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys. They’re also coming off a bye week.

The Broncos are also coming on strong with three wins in their last four games, including a resounding 28-13 win over the Los Angeles Chargers last week. Can Denver earn another key victory against a divisional foe this week?

Let’s dig in with our SNF predictions and best bets. Please note that all NFL Week 13 odds and lines are current as of 2 PM EST on Friday, December 3.

Sunday Night Football Prediction Week 13

While the Chiefs’ offense has been inconsistent lately, their defense has really turned things around. After surrendering at least 29 points in five straight games to start the season, Kansas City’s D has yielded 17 points or less in five of its last six games.

It’s extremely difficult to beat the Chiefs (or anyone) if you can’t score against them. Kansas City’s offense remains extremely dangerous with Patrick Mahomes under center, ranking second in total yards and ninth in scoring.

The Chiefs will look to sustain their success on the defensive end against a middling Broncos offense that ranks 20th in total yards and 21st in scoring.

Denver’s real strength is their defense, which is allowing the third-fewest points per game in the NFL this year at 17.8. The Broncos have held opponents to 17 points or less in four of their last five games, including 16 to the Cowboys and 13 to the Chargers.

With both teams killing it on defense, the edge has to go to Kansas City and its superior offense. Mahomes is worlds better than Teddy Bridgewater and has many more playmakers at his disposal. The Chiefs have also the better head coach in Andy Reid, who’s had two full weeks to prepare for this game.

Look for the well-rested Chiefs to beat the Broncos comfortably at home.

Sunday Night Football Best Bets Week 13

SNF Best Bet: Chiefs -9.5 (-110) at Caesars

This is a big spread on our NFL gameday odds, even for the Chiefs, but I’m confident they’ll cover here. They’ve won each of their last two games by double digits and four of their last six wins have come by 10+ points.

With an elite offense and red-hot defense, Kansas City is capable of blowing anyone out, especially a mediocre Broncos team at home in primetime. The Chiefs dismantled the Las Vegas Raiders three weeks ago on Sunday Night Football and should have a similar performance against another division rival here.

SNF Best Bet: Under 47 Total Points (-110) at Caesars

Both teams are playing extremely well on defense and have struggled offensively in recent weeks. The Broncos have topped 20 points in just three of their past eight games, while the Chiefs have done so in only two of their last seven.

Kansas City’s offense has been surprisingly inconsistent this season, in part due to Mahomes’ 11 interceptions. He hasn’t been himself this year, exceeding 275 passing yards and multiple passing touchdowns just once in his past five games,

This game is shaping up to be low-scoring, defensive battle between two divisional opponents. Take the Under for our NFL bet of the day.
