Braves vs Astros Props: Best Baseball Props Today World Series Game 2

Max Fried: Over 4.5 Strikeouts (+105) at BetMGM

Wager: 1 unit

At plus-odds, I love this Max Fried Over.

Fried did not look his best in his last outing in the NLCS, but I’m expecting him to bounce back. The Astros’ bats were largely silenced in Game 1, but with Charlie Morton (broken leg) now out for the rest of the World Series, Fried will need to step up in a big way.

The left-hander had one of the best seasons of his young career in 2021, posting a 3.04 ERA across roughly 166 innings of work.

Back Fried to throw a solid game against the Houston Astros and rack up 5+ strikeouts in the process.

Jose Urquidy: Under 3.5 Strikeouts (-135) at BetMGM

Wager: 1 unit

Jose Urquidy is not the most overpowering pitcher to begin with, and he’s not a strikeout artist by any means. While 3.5 strikeouts is a low bar to clear, Houston’s usage of Urquidy recently — or lack thereof — has me confident here.

The right-hander has only pitched once in the postseason to this point, which was in Game 3 of the ALCS. He only lasted 1.2 innings, allowing five earned runs on six hits.

With the Braves lineup firing on all cylinders, I don’t believe Urquidy is good enough to put their run to a halt. Back the Under on 3.5 strikeouts for Urquidy with the possibility that he’s out of this game earlier than expected.

Freddie Freeman: Over 0.5 RBIs (+180) at BetMGM

Wager: 0.5 units

The Braves’ signature run producer, Freddie Freeman, has started to turn the heat up in the playoffs as of late. He started the NLCS off slow with a four-strikeout night in Game 1, but has since figured it out at the plate.

In Game 1 of the World Series, Freeman went 1-for-3 with a run batted in. Over his last five games, he is 7-for-16 with five runs batted in, boding well for this prop.

Mixed in with the fact that the Astros are turning to the very hittable Jose Urquidy on the bump, I really like this prop at plus-odds.
