We are one-third of the way through the NFL season and injuries continue to affect both the betting lines and how teams manage injuries as their bye weeks approach. Calf, quadriceps, and hamstring strains continue to limit star players, sending many to the injured reserve.
With high-performing players battling injuries, having a licensed physical therapist to interpret the NFL Week 7 injury reports will help you gain an advantage.
Below are the top NFL Week 7 injuries to consider when placing your Week 7 NFL betting picks. Please note that all NFL Week 7 odds and lines are current as of Thursday, October 21 at 12 PM EST.

NFL Week 7 Injuries & Betting Tips
Kareem Hunt & Nick Chubb, RB, Cleveland Browns (Calf Strains)
Cleveland Browns vs Denver Broncos
Both Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt are dealing with calf injuries, with Chubb already ruled out for Thursday Night Football against the Denver Broncos and Hunt landing on injured reserve. D’Ernest Johnson will take their place in the starting lineup.
Calf injuries are difficult to play through due to the explosive demands of pushing off the foot to accelerate forward and the high chance for re-injury, so the Browns are wise to be cautious with their star running backs this early in the season.
Cleveland’s injury woes don’t stop there, however. Baker Mayfield suffered another dislocation of his non-throwing shoulder that has already resulted in a labrum tear. Due to the short week, backup Case Keenum will start in his place.

Meanwhile, Odell Beckham Jr. is listed as questionable with a reported Grade 3 AC joint sprain. Jarvis Landry (knee) is expected to come off the IR and play, but it’s unclear how effective he’ll be.
To make matters worse, rookie Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah has been recently placed on IR with a high-ankle sprain. Both starting tackles Jack Conklin and Jedrick Wills Jr. are also working through injuries and are considered questionable.
Cleveland’s wave of injuries has caused their odds to tumble over at our NFL gameday odds. The Browns will likely struggle against Denver’s tough defense, which is why I’m wagering 3 units on the Broncos Moneyline (+100) at Caesars.
Antonio Gibson, RB, Washington Football Team (Shin Stress Fracture)
Washington Football Team @ Green Bay Packers
Antonio Gibson continues to work through his stress fracture in his shin, which appeared to be hampering him in Week 6 against the Kansas City Chiefs. He even left the game temporarily, although he did return and will likely suit up against the Green Bay Packers this week.
While this is a pain issue, this is not something that an injection can mask to play through the game. As losses mount for the Washington Football Team, the strategy for Gibson to play through this injury may change.

Given Gibson’s heavy workload, Washington’s offense would suffer considerably if he’s forced to miss any time. However, a road date with Green Bay isn’t going to make their management of Gibson any easier. My betting pick is 1 unit on the Under 48.5 (-110) at Caesars.
T.Y. Hilton & Parris Campbell, WR, Indianapolis Colts (Quadricep Strain/Foot Injury)
Indianapolis Colts @ San Francisco 49ers
T.Y. Hilton finally returned from his cervical neck fusion in August to catch four passes for 80 yards in Week 6. Unfortunately, his return did not last long as he left in the second quarter with a quadriceps strain. This is very likely an acclimation injury after not playing for two months.
Practice reports will dictate whether he can play through this, but he may have to if it’s minor. Fellow receiver Parris Campbell is expected to miss the remainder of the season with a foot injury that is suspected to be a Lisfranc fracture.

The Indianapolis Colts have had a rough start to their season and losing Campbell doesn’t help. With the San Francisco 49ers getting healthier, my betting pick is 1 unit for the 49ers to cover the spread -4 (-110) at Caesars.
Tyreek Hill, WR, Kansas City Chiefs (Quadricep Strain) & Julio Jones, WR, Tennessee Titans (Hamstring Strain)
Kansas City Chiefs @ Tennessee Titans
Tyreek Hill continues to work through a quadriceps strain suffered during a loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 5. He played through a questionable tag in Week 6, but had to exit during the game against Washington with the same injury.
Hill relies on his quadriceps to slow him down and turn on a dime to create separation to beat his defenders. He also depends on this muscle to help him land with control after going up for catches. He appears on track to play against the Tennessee Titans, but he may be limited later in the game as fatigue sets in.

Julio Jones, on the other hand, is dealing with yet another hamstring strain following Tennessee’s win over Buffalo on Monday night. He has been described as day-to-day, but the reality is that he will likely miss this week and potentially more as this is now his second season dealing with recurring hamstring injuries.
Even if Jones sits, there’s still more than enough offense on both sides to produce a shootout, making my NFL bet of the day 1 unit on the Over 57.5 (-110) at Caesars.
Other Week 7 Notable Injuries
- Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is dealing with a calf strain suffered on his game-winning touchdown to beat the New England Patriots in Week 6. With a well-timed bye, he should be good to go for Week 8.
- Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson has been placed on IR to deal with a cervical disc herniation and is eligible to return in Week 10.
- Buffalo Bills TE Dawson Knox suffered a right-hand fracture in Week 6 against the Titans, requiring surgery. With a bye in Week 7, he may be able to return as quickly as Week 8.
- New York Giants WR Kadarius Toney is dealing with an aggravation of his ankle injury from Week 5 that is expected to have him miss 1-2 games.
- Tennessee Titans rookie CB Caleb Farley suffered a left ACL tear on Monday night and is out for the season.
