NHL Bets of the Day 10/18/21
Best Bet: Seattle Kraken Moneyline (+110) at BetMGM

The Seattle Kraken are being grossly underestimated this year. They have a pretty decent roster and already seem to be finding some cohesion on both ends of the ice. Accordingly, I’m backing them as a moneyline underdog against the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday.
Seattle has started the season 1-1-1, playing three extremely tight one-goal games to start out their existence. They’ve been in every game to the end and are proving to be a feisty, scrappy team that never gives up, giving them great upset potential here.
I’m backing the underdog not just because I like the value — I believe they are the better team, too, making this our NHL bet of the day.

Best Bet: Toronto Maple Leafs -1.5 (+135) at BetMGM
Wager: 1 Unit
I don’t typically recommend betting NHL puck lines on favorites, but this is a rare case because I see immense value here. The Toronto Maple Leafs have excellent offensive firepower and the New York Rangers have struggled defensively to open the season, allowing nine goals over their first three games (23rd in NHL).
This is an inviting matchup for Toronto as a team that can score in bunches. Even without Auston Matthews, the Maple Leafs still have plenty of talent and are capable of outscoring the Rangers by at least two goals at home.
