Monday Night Football Predictions Week 7 | MNF Picks & Saints vs Seahawks Best Bets

Last Updated: Oct 25, 2021

The New Orleans Saints will take on the Seattle Seahawks in Week 7 on Monday Night Football. In terms of personnel, this game couldn’t look more different than how these teams have stacked up over the past decade.

For the Saints, Drew Brees has retired and it’s Jameis Winston under center. For the Seahawks, it’s Geno Smith leading the offense as Russell Wilson rehabs from finger surgery. This is still an incredibly important game for both teams, but it won’t have the same level of star power that we’re used to seeing from these two NFC heavyweights.

As we look ahead to what should be a fantastic matchup between two likely playoff teams, let’s dive into our best bets for Week 7 of the MNF football predictions series.

Please note that all Saints vs Seahawks odds and lines are current as of 1 PM EST on Friday, October 22.

Monday Night Football Prediction Week 7

The Saints are coming off a much-needed Week 6 bye and should be fresh for this game. With 15 days to prepare for Smith, New Orleans’ third-ranked defense should have no problem slowing down Seattle’s limited offense.

The biggest question is if the Seahawks can limit the Saints’ 10th-ranked offense. Seattle has one of the league’s worst defenses, allowing the most yards per game in the NFL. They were slightly better against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 6, but that’s not saying much given Pittsburgh’s offensive woes this season.

New Orleans is inconsistent on offense, but they should be able to score 24+ points in this game with relative ease. Expect the Saints to win and hand the Seahawks their fifth loss of the year.

Monday Night Football Best Bets Week 7

MNF Best Bet: New Orleans Saints -4.5 (-110) on BetMGM

Wager: 1 Unit

With Wilson, the Seahawks are a borderline playoff team with a bad defense. Without him, however, they just aren’t a good team. Playing at home should help, but the oddsmakers are right to make the Saints a road favorite in this game, per our NFL gameday odds.

New Orleans is one of the most difficult teams in the league to figure out. They destroyed the Green Bay Packers in Week 1, but the Carolina Panthers beat them up in Week 2. Are they a playoff contender or just a middle-of-the-pack team in the NFC?

This game should tell us a lot, as the Saints need to take care of business on the road against an inferior team.

With two weeks to prepare for this game, look for Sean Payton‘s squad to come out fast and score a ton of points on the road. Pete Carroll is good at keeping games close, but New Orleans should win this game by at least a touchdown in Week 7.

MNF Best Bet: Over 42.5 Total Points (-110) on BetMGM

Wager: 1 Unit

As mentioned above, the Seahawks have arguably the worst defense in the league as they are allowing over 400 yards per game. The Saints should be able to move the ball up and down the field at will in this game, especially with a well-rested Alvin Kamara at their disposal.

The biggest question is, can Seattle keep up? Smith looked competent against the Steelers’ stout defense, and the Seahawks’ rushing attack improved as the game went on.

Seattle isn’t likely to score a ton of points in this one, but 20-24 points feels reasonable after scoring 20 against Pittsburgh in Heinz Field. If the Seahawks can accomplish that, the Over should hit with ease, making this our NFL bet of the day.
