Chiefs vs Eagles Predictions Week 4 – NFL Pick of the Day

Last Updated: Oct 1, 2021

The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will face off in a Week 4 matchup in Philadelphia with both teams searching for their first win since Week 1. The Chiefs have lost back-to-back close games against the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers, while the Eagles are coming off an ugly 41-21 road loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football.

Will Patrick Mahomes and co. be able to right the ship in Week 4? Or will Philly pull off an upset win at home? Let’s break down our Chiefs vs Eagles predictions and best bets in our NFL pick of the day series.

Please note that all Chiefs vs Eagles odds and lines are current as of Friday, October 1.

Chiefs vs Eagles Prediction

The Chiefs have played three one-possession games thus far and have come out on the wrong end of two of them, losing by one point to the Ravens in Week 2 and by six points to the Chargers last week. Kansas City could and probably should have won both of those games, only to be undone by ball security issues both times.

Andy Reid‘s offense has been stellar as expected, ranking fifth in the NFL with 92 points scored thus far. The issue is that the Chiefs have allowed more points than they’ve scored, yielding 95 points to the opposition — second-most in the NFL.

Kansas City’s defense will try to turn things around in Week 4 against the Eagles, who have scored the 10th-fewest points in the NFL at 21.3 points per game. Philadelphia’s offense is considerably less dangerous than the ones Kansas City has already faced, as Jalen Hurts is no Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert, or Baker Mayfield.

Meanwhile, the Eagles’ defense is unlikely to have much of an answer for the Chiefs’ high-octane offense after getting torched by the Cowboys for 41 points in Week 3. They’ll also have one less day to prepare for Mahomes after playing on Monday Night Football earlier this week.

Accordingly, this matchup appears to be a perfect “get right" game for Kansas City. Look for the defending AFC champions to play up to their true talent level here, exposing Philly’s defense like Dallas did. I’m expecting a high-scoring Chiefs victory in this one.

Prediction: Chiefs 37, Eagles 24

Chiefs vs Eagles Best Bets

Best Bet: Chiefs -7 (-110) at BetMGM

I’m laying a touchdown on the Chiefs all day long. This game has some serious blowout potential as long as Kansas City can maintain their offensive flow from the past three weeks.

The Eagles simply don’t have the offense to keep up with the Chiefs and don’t have the defense to stop them. The same was true of their matchup with the Cowboys, and they lost by 20.

While I like the Chiefs at -7 per our NFL gameday odds, I would also recommend buying a half-point to get -6.5.

Best Bet: Total Points Over 54.5 (-110) at BetMGM

While I expect Kansas City to do the heavy lifting here, Philly’s offense is capable of putting points on the board against a Chiefs defense that has been vulnerable this season. I have the final score prediction at 61 points, so the Over should hit fairly comfortably, making this a worthy NFL bet of the day.

Best Bet: Patrick Mahomes & Jalen Hurts Over 699.5 All-Purpose Yards (+105) at DraftKings

I really like this special prop bet offered solely by DraftKings. Mahomes is averaging 313 passing yards and 22 rushing yards per game, while Hurts is averaging 260 passing yards and 60 rushing yards per game. Combined, this is an average of 655 all-purpose yards between the two. If this game turns into an up-tempo shootout, they’ll make enough plays to hit the Over.

Chiefs vs Eagles Same Game Parlay Picks

  • Chiefs -6.5 (-120)
  • Over 54.5 (-110)

With the Mahomes/Hurts prop unavailable for same-game parlays at DraftKings, we’ll buy the half-point on the Chiefs’ spread and take the Over, rolling two of our best bets into one. This two-leg parlay has solid +215 odds and is worth putting money on.
