MLB Bet Of The Day 9/10/21
Washington Nationals @ Pittsburgh Pirates (6:35 p.m. ET)

Steven Brault will take the hill for the Pirates, coming off two terrible starts where he allowed 12 runs on 15 hits in seven innings. There’s no reason to think this can’t continue. In those two games, Brault has walked six batters while striking out five and has struggled with a high wOBA to righties and lefties in the last 30 days.
In the last 30 days, Brault has had an xFIP of 6.92 while striking out 14.5 percent of batters and walking 11.3 percent of batters. He’s giving up 40 percent hard contact, along with a BABIP of .326.
The Nationals lineup has always looked juicy against lefties. The projected lineup without Ryan Zimmerman has an ISO of .202 and a wOBA of .385 in the last 30 days. If Josh Bell takes the night off for Zimmerman at first base, these numbers would be greater.
The lineup has hit nearly 30 percent line drives against lefties and has a BABIP of .370 when facing lefties. That batting average of balls in play isn’t a fluke.
