TVG Horse Race Betting Hands-on Review

The name TVG is synonymous with horse racing with its ubiquitous simulcasting service that provides streams of dozens of races each day. The TVG website and app is the continuation of this service with a robust number of races to bet on each day.

TVG has been one of the industry leaders in simulcasts for years and has taken that prowess to horse-race betting since its launch in 2014. Aside from live streams, which TVG offers an abundance of at most major United States tracks each day, TVG also provides bettors with free picks and past performances to users who join and participate in the service.

TVG doesn’t let users watch races at every track in the world, but it does take bets at nearly every track across the globe each day. Finding races at each track is a breeze with featured tracks on the home page, a helpful race schedule as well as a search function and track-by-state list for bettors to easily find the race they’re looking for.

Users with extra funds can purchase other tips and guidance at cost.

Is TVG Horse Race Betting Legit?

Yes! With the backing of FanDuel, the No. 1 online sportsbook in the United States, TVG is one of the most trusted names in online horse-race betting.

Can You Win Real Money Playing at TVG Horse Race Betting?

Yes! Users who deposit and place bets in a state where the service is legal can win real money.

TVG Signup Bonus

TVG Horse Racing $200 Back If First Bet Loses

TVG has a terrific new player offer of up to $200 back if your first bet is settled as a loss. That means when you create a new account using one of the many links on this page, make your first deposit, simply place a bet and if it loses, you will get 100% of that first bet back as betting credit.

Bonus funds will appear within 24 hours of first deposit and must be used within 30 days.

TVG Promotions

The TVG app and website offers a slew of great promotions, including fee-free deposits on Mondays and Tuesdays, protection if you bet a horse to win and it finishes in either Place or Show and free guidance for serious bettors.

TVG also offers promotions for individual tracks each week and year-round odds and promos for the Triple Crown races — the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes — as well as the Breeders Cup, Kentucky Downs and Pegasus World Cup.

There’s also a $25 payout for users who refer friends to the TVG service.

Unlike online sports betting, betting on horse races online is legal in nearly every state. Online horse betting and horse betting apps are taking over where simulcasts and Off-Track Betting (OTB) formerly occupied the spaces of gambling on horse racing during the 1990s, 2000s and early 2010s.

The TVG app and website are open to bettors in nearly every state, including:

  • Arizona
  • Arkansas
  • California
  • Colorado
  • Connecticut
  • Delaware
  • Florida
  • Idaho
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Iowa
  • Kentucky
  • Louisiana
  • Maryland
  • Massachusetts
  • Michigan
  • Minnesota
  • Montana
  • Nebraska
  • New Hampshire
  • New Jersey (via NJ4Bets)
  • New Mexico
  • New York
  • North Dakota
  • Ohio
  • Oklahoma
  • Oregon
  • Pennsylvania
  • Rhode Island
  • South Dakota
  • Tennessee
  • Vermont
  • Virginia
  • Washington
  • West Virginia
  • Wyoming

Betting Markets

The TVG app and website offers so many markets at each race each day. Of course, bettors can choose which horse they believe will win, place or show at each race at each track each day — a dozen or so races per track per day. But they also have the option to bet quinellas, trifectas, superfectas, pick-3s or pick-5s.

The TVG app gives odds for each horse, as well as pertinent info such as jockeys and trainer names for each horse, but it also provides advice just by clicking on the horse’s name for each race.

My TVG App Experience

Downloading the TVG app was a cinch from the App Store. It was easy to find, and I was able to begin playing within seconds of the app appearing on my phone’s screen.

Navigating the app’s robust number of race-betting options was easy, and I could toggle from race-to-race at each track with arrows at the top of the screen. However there is not a back arrow button to return to the previous screen, thus users must return to the home screen to start a new search.

Still, the app was easy to navigate, and placing bets was easy. I was impressed with the app’s ability to provide odds, advice and other pertinent information within the confines of a phone screen.

Should You Bet at TVG?

If you’re a horse-racing fan, absolutely. TVG has simulcasting available on most regional sports networks, but if you’re a cord cutter, simply belonging to the service is worth it for the race streams alone. Plus, there are more than 150 tracks that TVG has betting offers, which means betting at more than 1,000 races per day is right at your fingertips.

TVG has a great new signup offer, and its partnership with FanDuel gives it credibility that other horse-racing apps don’t.

The TVG app and website do not have a phone bank due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. However, it does offer a robust number of answers via its online support page’s frequently asked questions sections.

For those inquiries that cannot be resolved by the FAQs page, users have the option to live chat with representatives or send an email via a form. Live agents are available seven days per week between 10 a.m.-11:30 p.m. ET.

Does TVG Horse Race Betting Have An Online Sportsbook?

Yes. TVG’s service is affiliated with FanDuel, and users who take advantage of the new player offer at the TVG racing app can also receive $10 in free funds at the FanDuel Online Sportsbook.
