Spreads.ca Sportsbook Hands-on Review

Spreads.ca is a platform based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada but not yet available in the province of Ontario, which is the country’s largest market. It is licensed by the Kahwanake Gaming Commission, which is led by a First Nations tribe within the province.

The site is vetted to meet standards of integrity and security, so you can always feel comfortable when funding your account.

You’ll find several betting markets at Spreads.ca, including niche sports like handball, darts, and even Gaelic football. It’s easy to navigate the site to find your preferred sport, as the information is organized and accessible.

Popular markets like hockey or baseball have a robust selection of alternate lines that you won’t often find at other sites. For example, you can wager on the Tampa Bay Lightning to go Over anywhere from 0.5 to 5.5 goals. This is a nice addition that gives you more options.

New players are entitled to five separate $20 risk-free bets, which is a smaller number, but it comes with a 1x playthrough requirement, meaning that it’s easy to convert the bonus funds into withdrawable cash.

The issue is that the props market is severely limited in comparison to other sportsbooks. For example, none are available for the June 21st slate of MLB games. Most other sites provide their users with much more selection. It’s also difficult to find the customer support section if you were to have any problems.

Is Spreads.ca Sportsbook Legit?

Yes, Spreads.ca Sportsbook is completely legitimate. The Kahwanake Gaming Commission is a regulatory body that has been operating since 1999 and carries an established name within the Canadian sports betting space. This is a 100% secure and legal platform.

Can You Win Real Money Playing at Spreads.ca Sportsbook?

Yes, you are able to win real money at Spreads.ca Sportsbook.

All you need to do is be situated in a Canadian province or territory at the time of your wager, which includes any besides Ontario. Spreads.ca just needs to obtain licensing before it can re-join the fray in the nation’s largest market. This is because regulations changed as of April 4th, when Ontario opened its doors to other private operators.

Spreads.ca Sportsbook Signup Bonus

Spreads.ca Sportsbook offers new users a helpful welcome bonus to get their sports betting venture off to a strong start.

All you need to do is click our “Get Bonus" link and input our promo code to activate this bonus.

You’ll find an explanation of each offer below.

Risk-Free Bet

Spreads.ca provides new users with a risk-free bet of up to $500. This is where your first bet is refunded at a maximum of $500 if it loses.

Your first pick needs to be at -200 odds or greater (-150, +100, etc.) in order for it to qualify for this promotion. Your free bets will be distributed in five increments that each amount to 20 percent of your initial wager. There is a 1x wagering requirement attached to the offer.

For example, let’s say I lost my first bet of $400 on the Montreal Canadiens at +100. I’d be given five $100 free bets, each of which must be used to match that number. This means that I can’t use my $100 free bet on a $75 wager, nor can I spread it out to two separate $50 bets.

Once I’ve racked up $500 in cumulative bets using this bonus, it is converted into withdrawable funds.

This is an offer that removes some of the financial risk associated with sports betting. Since it has a low playthrough requirement, it’s easy to withdraw, making it a more helpful bonus.

Spreads.ca Sportsbook Deposit Bonus

New users who make a first deposit of at least $25 will receive a $50 free bet. This is provided as a singular token that must be used at that number on one wager.

This means that I can’t spread out my $50 bet credits into smaller denominations. Be sure to save your $50 until after you’ve completed the risk-free bet promo, as it is not eligible for this offer.

The deposit bonus is helpful because it provides you with a sizable free bet that can be used for more potential winnings.

Spreads.ca Sportsbook No-Deposit Bonus

No-deposit bonuses are when sportsbooks provide bet credits to new users without requiring them to fund their accounts. It is usually a smaller number, ranging from $5 to $20, intended to be used to test out the platform. Spreads.ca is not currently offering this bonus.

Bet & Get

Bet & Get rewards you with bet credits just for participating in the promo. There is no need to win your wager. The intent is to either drive interest towards a specific betting market or welcome a new user with free bets.

An example of this can be “Bet $25+ on the Stanley Cup Finals, Get $50 in free bets."

Spreads.ca does not have this offer right now.

Spreads.ca Sportsbook Promotions

Spreads.ca has a few useful promotions that help you get more value on your selections.

There is a “Spreads Boosts" section, which enhances the odds of selected events. You may find single bets here, such as the Avalanche to score 6+ goals at +125 odds. There are also pre-packaged parlays, such as the Mets, Diamondbacks, and Brewers to win at +950.

In addition to this, you’ll enjoy Parlay Insurance, where you’re provided up to $50 if your combination of four or more legs loses by one. The total odds must be greater than +400 (ex. +500) and each leg needs to be at less than -300 odds.

Does Spreads.ca Sportsbook Have the Best Odds?

Spreads.ca has fair odds that generally align with the rest of the market. You won’t have to worry about paying inflated prices when using this platform. Let’s dive in for a more in-depth look.

Spreads.ca Sportsbook Pricing

When scanning the board to view Spreads.ca’s pricing, you’ll notice that point spreads mostly have -110 on both sides with the rare -120/+100 exception to the rule. We see this disparity in totals, particularly MLB, where Over or Under usually has -115 or shorter odds.

Moneyline sides are also distributed within industry norms, with 20-25 cents margins usually the case. For example, the Pirates are -155 favorites against the Cubs, who are +135 underdogs. There are some outliers, usually with heavier favorites. For example, the Red Sox are -200 favorites and the Tigers are +170 underdogs.

We compared their live odds with another popular operator and found that they were quite favorable. For instance, in the European Under 19 Soccer Championship, Romania is +6600 underdogs while down 2-0 at another site, but +7200 at Spreads.ca. That’s a significant jump and makes a difference in the long run.

We looked through each betting market and did not find any props available at Spreads.ca, just alternate prices on totals and spreads. This is one of the major drawbacks of this platform, but overall the pricing is quite good in comparison to the market.

My Spreads.ca Sportsbook App Experience

Spreads.ca does not currently have an app, but its mobile browser functions at a high level. In fact, I preferred navigating the platform on my cellphone instead of my laptop. Their layout and interface works better in this truncated version and the site is more visually appealing. It’s a lot easier to navigate while using the mobile browser.

You can toggle through popular upcoming events by scrolling the bar at the top of the screen. Each section is also organized by sport. You’ll find your bet slip conveniently located right at the bottom.

While it shows some of the promotions available through this bar, it would be beneficial if they were each prominently displayed and cycling on a repeated loop. This is because the “Promotions" section is a bit hidden and you’ll need to scroll through a few sports before seeing it on the mobile browser.

Despite this minor gripe, I was pleased with the mobile browser and felt that it really enhanced the user experience at Spreads.ca Sportsbook.

Should You Bet at Spreads.ca Sportsbook?

I recommend betting at Spreads.ca because it’s an accessible platform with a helpful welcome bonus. The 1x playthrough requirement makes it easy to convert your bonus funds into cash. You’ll often find higher multipliers throughout the industry, usually ranging from 3x to 5x, so this is a major positive.

The platform is easy to use, particularly on the mobile browser, which is much better than the desktop version. The selection of alternate lines helps differentiate the site from its competitors. You can choose different point spreads for greater potential profit. This isn’t always available at other operators.

The odds are fairly priced in accordance with the rest of the market, which is important. You won’t be losing value while paying inflated moneylines here. Sometimes, you’ll even find that Spreads.ca offers more favorable lines compared to the competition.

You’ll have to accept the trade-off when using this site, though. The fair odds, accessible platform, and useful welcome bonus also come with severely limited player props with a customer support team that can be hard to access. This section is not easily visible on the mobile or desktop versions, which is a bit frustrating.

Despite this negative, I would suggest testing out the sportsbook to take advantage of the several positives that it has to offer, namely its welcome bonus.
