OwnersBox Fantasy Hands-on Review
OwnersBox is based out of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. They launched the first-ever weekly fantasy sports platform back in September 2020. Its weekly fantasy sports contests differentiate the platform from other daily fantasy sports platforms. However, you can still play daily fantasy on OwnersBox with fantasy football.
OwnersBox currently operating in every state except Arizona, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, and Washington. Residents of these states can join OwnersBox contests only if they are not physically in the state at the time.
OwnersBox’s official spokesperson is former NFL quarterback Drew Brees. They are also partnered with other websites such as RotoBaller, DailyFaceoff, RotoWire, and FantasyPros.
What Is OwnersBox Fantasy?
OwnersBox offers weekly fantasy sports contests in football, hockey, basketball, and baseball. Users can also play daily fantasy football, which features a unique SuperFlex format.
These contests are head-to-head (vs. another player) or tournaments (vs. multiple players). Users need to out-score their opponent in head-to-head in order to win cash prizes. In tournaments, prizes are divided based on where a user finishes in the contest.
How Does OwnersBox Fantasy Work?
Weekly contests require users to draft a team of players under an assigned salary cap. The contest runs for seven days, so users will need to be mindful of the amount of games played for each player.
Each position has limits on games, so if you go over the limit, the BestBall feature is activated. This means that the best score for the player will be chosen for your contest. Users will be able to swap players throughout the week.
Daily contests are available for fantasy football, where users can select players under a salary cap. Unlike other DFS platforms like DraftKings and FanDuel, OwnersBox allows users to choose a quarterback at the FLEX position, which is known as SuperFlex.
Users can also opt for a running back, wide receiver, or tight end at the FLEX as well. This adds more strategy to the contests and helps set it apart from other platforms.

My OwnersBox Fantasy App Experience
My experience with the OwnersBox Fantasy app has been positive. The app has a sleek interface with a nice blue and black background that makes it visually appealing and easy to use.
The menu is organized into sections that include feed (player news), groups (to create contests among friends), players (list of players with projections), lobby (list of various contests), and home (includes your active contests).
There is also a dashboard to check your profile (shows your user status and OwnersBucks), verification status, as well as the options to deposit, withdraw, and refer a friend. You can also access your transaction history and customer support in this section.
I really liked the player feed and projections because it helps guide you while you’re building your lineups. It was also helpful to have the entire contest rules laid out for you when clicking on the contest. It shows how the scoring works and how much prizes are allotted to winners.
The support section is easily accessible, filled with several options to help you choose your area of need. You can submit a request pertaining to any of the four fantasy sports, or find out how to get into direct contact with customer support.
Overall, the OwnersBox app enhanced the user experience, making it more enjoyable to engage in daily and weekly fantasy contests.
Is OwnersBox Fantasy Legit?
OwnersBox is a legit fantasy sports platform where you can earn cash prizes for fantasy contests. Deposits and withdrawals are securely processed to keep your money safe while playing on the site. Game integrity is key for OwnersBox and all aspects of the site conform to the strict guidelines of the state that you are playing in.
Should You Play at OwnersBox Fantasy?
We here at TheGameDay highly recommend OwnersBox as a fantasy platform. The weekly fantasy sports is an interesting spin on the traditional daily fantasy format. It’s a nice combination of season-long and daily fantasy.
The weekly format adds an entirely new element of strategy. Not only are you looking to select the best players, but you have to consider their matchups and number of games for the week. This applies to fantasy hockey, baseball, and basketball.
The SuperFlex fantasy football format is also fun because it allows you to start a quarterback at the FLEX position. This adds another element to game-stacking, which is a popular strategy in DFS. With SuperFlex, you can target a game that you expect to be high-scoring and pair two quarterbacks with their pass-catchers.
The snake draft is also an interesting addition because daily fantasy contests usually involve you simply selecting players within salary cap constraints. Drafting against your competitors adds more strategy.
These contests can last between one and four weeks, depending on how many teams are in the contest (two teams is one week, 16 teams is four weeks).
If you’re looking for a more nuanced take on daily fantasy, then OwnersBox is the right app for you. It is a much more complex game where you can gain more of an edge on your competition with more research. Join OwnersBox today!

Rewards System
OwnersBox has a rewards system known as OwnersBucks. Users earn OwnersBucks when joining paid contests. OwnersBucks amount to 1% of a user’s entry fees. For example, if you join a $20 contest, you will receive 2 OwnersBucks.
However, as a reward to experienced customers, the conversion rate increases as you play more contests. Each user will have their own rank, based on how many games they have played. The higher the rank, the higher the rate at which you accumulate OwnersBucks.
Here are the different conversion rates, based on rank. I have also included an explanation of each rank.
Rookie (0-9 contests): 1%
Pro (10-51 contests): 1.5%
Veteran (52-159 contests): 2.0%
Hall-of-Famer (160-319 contests): 2.5%
Hall-of-Famer Tier 2 (320-479 contests): 3.0%
Hall-of-Famer Tier 3 (480-639 contests): 3.5%
Hall-of-Famer Tier 4 (640-999 contests): 4.0%
G.O.A.T. (1000+ contests): 4.5%
OwnersBucks can be used to join cash contests. They can also be converted to cash, which can then be withdrawable.
The detailed rewards system is one of the great aspects of OwnersBox.

NBA/NHL
This is a weekly contest. Users build a 10-player lineup while staying under the $200,000 Salary Cap. The amount of player games for the week is included in the Lineup Builder. The object is to accumulate the most fantasy points in a 7-day period. There is a game-limit, so if you go over, it will trigger the Best Ball function, which takes your best scores for the week.
Your NHL team includes:
- Five Forwards (16-game limit)
- Three Defenseman (10-game limit)
- Two Goalies (4-game limit)
Your NBA team includes (Each position has a 6-game limit):
- Two Point Guards

- Two Running Backs
- Two Wide Receivers

- One SuperFlex (QB, RB, WR, TE)
