Vikings vs Falcons Predictions & Best Bets

Last Updated: Nov 1, 2023

Sunday’s game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Atlanta Falcons is the most interesting matchup on the slate.

Both offenses are messy, and as of Oct 31, neither team had named a starting quarterback.

Minnesota acquired quarterback Joshua Dobbs at the trade deadline from Arizona, but the Vikings haven’t stated when or how they plan on using Dobbs. The game in Atlanta should be a fun one when the two sides meet at 1:00 p.m. ET at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Vikings vs Falcons Odds

NFL odds were found at DraftKings Sportsbook and are current as of Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 10:00 a.m. ET.

  • Moneyline: Falcons (-218) • Vikings (+180)
  • Spread: Falcons -5 (-110) • Vikings +5 (-110)
  • Total Points: Over 37.5 (-108) • Under 37.5 (-112)
  • Implied Score: Falcons 21.25, Vikings 16.25

Vikings vs Falcons Predictions

Score Pick: Vikings 17, Falcons 14

Professional sports bettors rely on as much information as possible before making a wager, and we have two teams with all sorts of question marks and very few answers.

What we do know is Minnesota has won three straight but will be without quarterback Kirk Cousins and star wideout Justin Jefferson. The rest of the offense that has won three straight is intact. The trade for Dobbs means maybe BYU rookie Jaren Hall will start only one game.

The Vikings’ defense allows plenty of yards but does allow the 15th-most points per game.

The Atlanta offense is a mess. Starting quarterback Desmond Ridder has been shaky, and Taylor Heinicke replaced him in the second half of last week’s away loss to the Tennessee Titans. Heineke and the Falcons scored 20 points together, but a starter has yet to be named for Atlanta.

Like Minnesota, the Falcons’ defense has been dependable while allowing the 14th-most points.

The Vikings’ quarterback situation is a mess, but the Falcons’ offense is probably worse. I hope the Minnesota defense will step up big Sunday, and whoever is under center for Minnesota can lead the offense to a victory.

Vikings vs Falcons Best Bets & Props

Vikings (+180)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 unit

DraftKings opened our NFL bet of the Day with the Falcons -105, and if you were going to bet Falcons ML, you should’ve done that Sunday before the value was sucked out of the line.

The only value left is to take a wild guess and grab the Vikings +180. They are essentially the same team with the same defense facing an offense they should be able to stop.

Hopefully, whoever is behind center for the Vikings doesn’t kill us on Sunday.

Over 37.5 (-108)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 unit

This game opened Sunday afternoon at 41.5 points at DraftKings. That number is now 37.5, and that’s ridiculously low for this game.

We have shaky QBs playing, and with two of the most turnover-prone offenses, we should expect to see some turnovers in this contest. Turnovers usually lead to bad field position, and the shorter field will help both offenses find the endzone against two mediocre red zone defenses.

Vikings 1H (+164)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 unit

We may as well go all the way with this one and take Minnesota to win the first half. The Vikings’ defense allows the eighth-fewest first-half points per game, and they meet the 30th-best first-half scoring offense in the NFL.

The Falcons’ first-half defense allows nearly 14 points per half, and I hope whoever starts at QB for Minnesota fends off any nerves and is prepared enough to beat Atlanta on Sunday.

Vikings vs Falcons Same Game Parlay

Vikings vs Falcons SGP (+425)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 0.10 units

  • Vikings (+180)
  • Over 37.5 (-108)

I don’t usually make parlay bets this early, and we shouldn’t make them on dart throws with very little information. At the end of the day, we have two offenses that haven’t named a QB, and that’s hard to handicap or even make a definitive stand, but look for the Vikings to find a way to win this game.

The Vikings trade for Dobbs is a good one. We don’t know how quickly Dobbs will enter the lineup, but that total is far too low. There are too many skilled players playing indoors, and these teams will find a way to score the football.
