Cardinals vs Eagles Predictions & Best Bets

Last Updated: Dec 27, 2023

After getting back on track with their Christmas Day win over the rival Giants, the Philadelphia Eagles will continue their chase for the NFC East title. Next up in Week 17 is a date with the lowly Arizona Cardinals at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Cardinals are coming off a 27-16 loss to the Bears, their fourth in the last five games.

What can bettors expect? Let’s break down the NFL Week 17 odds and give our best bets.

Cardinals vs Eagles Odds

NFL odds used for this Arizona vs Philadelphia preview were found at DraftKings Sportsbook and are current as of Dec. 26 at 3 p.m. ET.

  • Moneyline: Eagles (-575) • Cardinals (+425)
  • Spread: Eagles -11 (-110) • Cardinals +11 (-110)
  • Total Points: Over 49 (-108) • Under 49 (-112)
  • Implied Score: Eagles 30, Cardinals 19

Cardinals vs Eagles Predictions

Score Pick: Eagles 33, Cardinals 17

If you haven’t noticed already, something’s a bit off in Philadelphia. The Eagles’ losing streak is over at three games, but the defending NFC champs still look hardly like a threat.

Fortunately for the Eagles – who need every win they can get to outlast Dallas for the NFC East title – the schedule-makers gift-wrapped them another bottom-feeder in Week 17.

The Cardinals are a mess. At 3-12, they hold the NFL’s second-worst record. With two more losses, they’ll be guaranteed a shot at drafting either Caleb Williams or Drake Maye as their quarterback of the future. Kyler Murray’s return hasn’t mattered much.

Cardinals vs Eagles Best Bets & Props

Eagles -11 (-110)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 unit

The Cardinals have been slightly better since Murray returned, going 3-3 ATS and 2-4 OU. But they’ve still given bettors hardly any reason to expect them to hang with Philadelphia – on the road, no less. Notably, eight of their last 10 losses have come by double digits.

Philadelphia has failed to cover in four straight, including the last two as a favorite. As such, the Eagles have lost some of the goodwill they’d built up during their 10-1 start.

That said, as shaky as they’ve looked over the last month, the Eagles are still in something of a bounce-back spot against the NFL’s 27th-ranked defense. Thus, I’m taking the Eagles -11 as my NFL bet of the day.

Over 49 (-108)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 unit

Philadelphia has gone Over the projected total in six of its seven games at home. Although its offense has looked more suspect of late, Philadelphia shouldn’t have any trouble moving the ball in Week 17. On average, only Washington (30.2) allows more points than Arizona (26.9).

The Cardinals have given up at least 30 points six times, including a season-high 45 in Week 15 to San Francisco.

Look for those trends to continue and push this matchup over 49 combined points.

Eagles -6.5 1H (-120)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 unit

No stranger to poor starts, Arizona trailed by eight points or more in four of its last five games.

Jalen Hurts and Co. jumped on the Giants early, and they’ll do the same against the Cardinals, who have yielded the sixth-most yards in the league.

Arizona has been outscored by an average of 14.8 points in its six road losses.

Cardinals vs Eagles Same Game Parlay

Cardinals vs Eagles SGP (+200)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 unit

  • Eagles -10 (-132)
  • Eagles Over 15.5 1H (-112)
  • Eagles 1st to Score (-190)

I’m fairly confident in the Eagles’ ability to win by double digits, but I’m hedging to -10 to protect against a backdoor cover. Regardless, it’s not as if bettors are sacrificing a ton of value here.

Philadelphia should have no trouble getting ahead early, as Arizona ranks dead last in the NFL in rushing defense. The Cardinals allow an average of 147 yards on the ground, 5.9 yards more than the next closest team. That bodes well for Hurts and De’Andre Swift.
