Bears vs Saints Predictions & Best Bets

Last Updated: Nov 1, 2023

Injuries will play a key role in many of the games in Week 9, especially at the quarterback position. One game that fits into that description is the Saints hosting the Bears.

Justin Fields (thumb) has missed the last two games for the Bears and is still being considered as week-to-week.

With Fields out again, Tyson Bagent will receive his third straight start. While he helped guide the Bears to a win over the Raiders in Week 7, he couldn’t continue that success during a loss to the Chargers in Week 8.

Let’s dive into the betting market for this matchup and highlight some wagers to consider.

Bears vs Saints Odds

NFL odds used for this Chicago vs New Orleans preview were found at DraftKings Sportsbook and are current as of Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 10:30am ET.

  • Moneyline: Saints (-340) • Bears (+270)
  • Spread: Saints -7.5 (-110) • Bears +7.5 (-110)
  • Total Points: Over 41.5 (-110) • Under 41.5 (-110)
  • Implied Score: Saints 24.5, Bears 17

Bears vs Saints Predictions

Score Pick: Saints 31, Bears 17

These teams are heading in opposite directions. The Bears are 2-6 and well on their way to another high draft pick.

The Saints are 4-4, tied atop the NFC South with the Falcons. The Saints have managed to stay at .500 despite five of their first eight games coming on the road.

This game being played in New Orleans is a significant boost for them, considering that the Bears are a combined 2-10 on the road since the beginning of last season.

Bagent did not throw a touchdown pass against the Chargers in Week 8, while also throwing two interceptions. He was picked off in Week 8 when he came on in relief of Fields against the Vikings, too.

The Saints have nine interceptions, which is tied for the fourth-most in the NFL. This has blowout written all over it.

Bears vs Saints Best Bets & Props

Saints Over 23.5 (-135)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit

With Alvin Kamara serving his suspension, the Saints’ offense struggled to score early in the season. In their first three games without him, they averaged 17.7 points per game.

Over five games since he returned, they have averaged 23.6 points. That has included them scoring at least 24 points in three of their last four games.

Combine that with the Bears allowing an average of 27.3 points per game and this is our NFL bet of the day.

Team To Score First: Saints (-174)

FanDuel Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit

The Bears didn’t produce their first score last week until the final two minutes of the first half. By the time they got on the board, the Chargers had already racked up 17 points.

Given their struggles on defense, it would not be a surprise to see the Saints score early and often. With Bagent at the helm, the Bears could struggle to score against a Saints team that has allowed just 19.3 points per game.

The odds on this over aren’t great, but it still has a favorable opportunity to be a winner.

Saints -7.5 (-110)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit

The Bears aren’t just losing games, they are losing them badly. Four of their six losses have come by at least 10 points. All three of their losses on the road have also come by at least 10 points.

Bagent at the helm against a strong defense puts the Bears in a position for another ugly loss.

Bears vs Saints Same Game Parlay

Bears vs Saints SGP (+126)

Drafts Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 unit

  • Saints Over 23.5 (-135)
  • Bears Under 20.5 (-285)

We’re already on the Over 23.5 points for the Saints as one of our best bets. The combination of the Bears defense and the stellar play of Kamara makes that leg of this parlay too good to pass up.

Over the last four games, Kamara has 269 rushing yards, 195 receiving yards, and three total touchdowns.

It’s difficult to imagine the Bears having a productive offensive game with Bagent starting against such a good defense. Even when the Bears scored 30 points when he started against the Raiders, Bagent only had 162 passing yards.

We bought a few points to give us a bit of a cushion on the Bears Under, but we still get a parlay at plus-odds.
