Kev Mahserejian offers up his Week 19 Fantasy Basketball Sleepers, and his NBA Week 20 Sleeper Picks might include waiver-wire pickups who’ve fallen through the cracks into free agency. Roster percentages refer to figures from Yahoo! Sports fantasy basketball leagues.
Week 20 Fantasy Basketball Sleepers
Killian Hayes, PG/SG, Detroit Pistons (24% rostered)
If you need assists in this final week, Killian Hayes is your man. The Pistons’ rookie PG has not dished out fewer than 6 assists in a game since April 26th. He plays almost every day despite the Pistons’ sporadic tank days and can provide some rebounds, threes, steals and points as well. Over the past month, Hayes is averaging: 8,1 points, 6.8 assists, 3.2 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 0.8 threes per game. He will kill you in turnovers and FG% but at least his FT is palatable.
Hayes has massive upside if Cory Joseph and Josh Jackson continue to miss games, and given that this is the last week of the season, that is possible. The Pistons are locked and loaded for the draft, they do not care one bit about this season.

Jaxson Hayes, C, New Orleans Pelicans (19%)
Jaxson Hayes is pretty much a must-add with the Pelicans shutting down. Zion Williamson (finger), Brandon Ingram (ankle), and Steven Adams (toe) are all banged up. The Pels are out of contention for a play-in spot and have no incentive this last week.
Hayes is coming off of a 6!! block game in which he also racked up 18 points and 8 rebounds. The game prior, he had 19 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 blocks. Hayes’ field goal percentage is incredible and he actually could help your FT with his near 80% rate. He is going to be very solid in the future, especially when Steven Adams is no longer employed in New Orleans. Make sure he is not on your wire.
Mo Wagner, PF/C, Orlando Magic (6%)
With Wendell Carter Jr. (eye) missing time due to an eye abrasion, recently signed Mo Wagner has stepped into a starting role at PF for Orlando and has produced relatively well. In this stretch, he is averaging 12.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 1.8 threes per game.
Wagner could lose some usage when/if WCJ returns but even so, he should see plenty of minutes given the general lack of depth due to tanking+injuries. This is not a league-winning add, but definitely, one to fill the stat sheet if someone on your roster goes down. Upside is present as well is Mo Bamba gets shut down.
