Rams 2021 Schedule, Changes, and Outlook
The Los Angeles Rams have made the playoffs in three of the last four seasons under head coach Sean McVay. They play in one of the toughest divisions in football in the NFC West, however, and will face seven playoff teams from last year.
The biggest offseason change for the Rams was their quarterback swap with the Lions, as Los Angeles received Matthew Stafford in exchange for Jared Goff and draft picks. Stafford should provide a significant upgrade over Goff, who has settled into an average signal caller at best. With Stafford’s cannon arm, the offense instantly becomes more explosive and can better take advantage of Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp, and Tyler Higbee.
While most are eager to see what Stafford and McVay can do together next season, the real question is whether their defense can continue to dominate after losing defensive coordinator Brandon Staley. After overseeing the stingiest defense in the NFL last year, Staley bolted for a head coaching job with the Los Angeles Chargers. New defensive coordinator Raheem Morris will try to replicate his predecessor’s success with a unit that still includes Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey.
Rams 2021 Make Playoffs Bet: Yes Or No For Los Angeles?
Rams Make 2021-2022 NFL Playoffs? YES (-200)
McVay is still one of the best and brightest head coaches in the NFL. Stafford should rejuvenate the offense with his passing ability, and the defense once again looks fearsome. The Rams remain one of the most dangerous teams in the NFL and are a good bet to reach the postseason.
