The Yankees will have crafty left-hander Nestor Cortes Jr. on the bump against Kris Bubic and the lowly Royals. Cortes is off to a fantastic start and has been striking out batters left and right (14.4 K/9), while Bubic (14.14 ERA) has been an unmitigated disaster. With big right-handed bats like Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, and DJ LeMahieu, New York’s lineup is capable of punishing the struggling southpaw.
Yu Darvish has been lights out in three of his four starts this year and will look to keep it going against the hapless Pirates. Pittsburgh is starting Zach Thompson, who’s been pounded for 20 hits and 17 runs (12 earned) in just 10 innings this year. The Pirates are one of the worst teams in baseball and the Padres are one of the best, making this an easy parlay piece to take.
Frankie Montas of the Athletics will take the mound against Aaron Civale of the Guardians in what seems to be a favorable home matchup for the A’s. Montas has pitched much better than Civale to begin the year and Cleveland’s bats have gone cold during their seven-game losing streak.
Seattle’s Matt Brash is a lesser-known pitcher around the league, but he possesses some of the best raw stuff in the entire sport. His frisbee slider and top-end fastball haven’t made waves yet, but he’s slowly beginning to find his command. He’ll look to exploit a Marlins lineup that has been so-so to start the season.
With four great picks here, this is our MLB parlay bet of the day.
MLB Longshot Parlay Bet Today
Today’s Longshot Parlay (+1888)
- Chicago Cubs Moneyline (+120)
- Minnesota Twins Moneyline (+110)
- Los Angeles Angels Moneyline (+110)
- Philadelphia Phillies Moneyline (+105)
WAGER: 1 Unit
Our longshot parlay of the day features four underdog moneylines, none of which are longer than (+120) odds.
We’re backing the Cubs and Kyle Hendricks against the Brewers and Adrian Houser. Both have been shaky at times this year, but this is a very close matchup based on these two lineups.
We’re also taking a shot on Dylan Bundy, a reclamation project who’s found new life (3-0, 0.59 ERA) with the Twins. He’ll try to keep rolling against the Rays, who’ve been floundering a bit on offense lately. Both of these teams have the same record, making Minnesota a quality bet at plus odds.
The Angels have been raking lately and will send Noah Syndergaard up against Lucas Giolito and an injury-ravaged White Sox squad that has lost nine of its last 10. With a 2.12 ERA and a 0.82 WHIP thus far, Syndergaard could be poised to hand Chicago another loss.
The Phillies and Mets also have a quality pitching duel lined up between Aaron Nola (3.74 ERA) and Tylor Megill (2.35 ERA). While Megill has been a bit sharper this year, I’m backing the more experienced ace in Nola given the dangerous lineups on both sides.
