January 21 NBA DFS Picks: LeBron vs. Giannis, Mitchell vs. Zion (Monkey Knife Fight)

Last Updated: Jan 21, 2021

January 21 NBA DFS Picks on Monkey Knife Fight: Monkey Knife Fight (MKF) combines elements of daily fantasy sports and traditional prop betting to offer a unique array of contests daily for a multitude of sports, including 1/21/21 NBA DFS Plays.

With NBA season in full swing, MKF enhances the enjoyment of the hardwood with exciting opportunities each night to win cash based on your knowledge of some of the league’s top players.

The GameDay breaks down two MKF contests daily that we feel have profit potential. With Thursday’s slate featuring plenty some big names, here’s a closer look at two opportunities involving four of the most offensively explosive players in action:

January 21 NBA DFS Picks

Los Angeles Lakers at Milwaukee Bucks

MKF Contest: More or Less- Fantasy Points (Pick 2/2 correctly to win 2.5x your Buy-in)

MKF Fantasy Points Scoring System:

  • Point= +1 point
  • Assist= +1.5 points
  • Rebound= +1.2 points
  • Steal= +3 points
  • Block= +3 points
  • Turnover= -1 point

Giannis Antetokounmpo: More Than 50.5 Fantasy Points

Antetokounmpo has a tough positional matchup against Anthony Davis and Marc Gasol down low Thursday, but the Greek Freak is naturally capable of transcending any matchup and actually performed very well against Los Angeles in two games last season. Giannis averaged 33.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.0 steal while shooting 52.5 percent, including 42.9 percent from three-point range, versus the defending champs.

In a game that should be a wire-to-wire battle, I like his chances of exceeding this fantasy-point benchmark.

LeBron James: More Than 47.5 Fantasy Points

James famously thrives in matchups like this against other mega-stars, and the Bucks, despite their solid defensive work overall, have been particularly susceptible to long-range shooting from small forwards, which boast a 38.9 percent success rate against Milwaukee over 14 games.

LeBron is taking a career-high 6.4 three-point attempts per game and draining them at a 37.5 percent clip, and he also excelled in this matchup last season with averages of 29.0 points (on 50.0 percent shooting), 10.0 rebounds, 9.5 assists and 1.5 steals over two games.

New Orleans Pelicans at Utah Jazz

MKF Contest: More or Less (Pick 2/2 correctly to win 3x your Buy-in)

Donovan Mitchell: More Than 22.5 Points

Mitchell just lit up this same Pelicans squad for 28 points over 33 minutes Tuesday, and he’s scored at least 23 points in half of his 14 games thus far. Mitchell also comes into Thursday’s contest in the midst of his best shooting stretch of his season, posting a 51.8 percent success rate, including an elite 53.1 percent from three-point range, over the last six contests. Meanwhile, New Orleans is ranked in the bottom 10 with 37.8 percent three-point shooting allowed, including 39.8 percent over the last three contests.

Zion Williamson: More Than 21.5 Points

Williamson tied a season high with 32 points against this same Jazz squad Tuesday, his sixth time in 12 games in which he exceeded Thursday’s benchmark of 21.5 points. Zion has seen a nice bump in offensive usage this season with 16.1 shot attempts per contest (compared to 15.0 in his rookie campaign), and he’s shooting an outstanding 62.7 percent over his last nine contests overall.
