February 19 NBA DFS Picks
Star Shootout, Early Games
MKF Contest: More or Less, Fantasy Points (Pick 2/2 correctly to win 2.5x your Buy-In)
MKF NBA Fantasy Points Scoring System:
- Point= +1 point
- Assist= +1.5 points
- Rebound= +1.2 points
- Steal= +3 points
- Block= +3 points
- Turnover= -1 point
Nikola Jokic, C, Denver Nuggets (at Cavaliers): More Than 57.5 Fantasy Points
Jokic boasts career highs in points (27.4), rebounds (11.1) and assists (1.6) while tying a high-water mark in steals (1.6). The big man has impressively exceeded 57.5 MKF points in 14 of his 28 games and has come within an MKF points of doing it on another two occasions as well. Jokic is also operating at near-career-best efficiency with his shot, draining 57.0 percent of his attempts – the second-highest figure of six seasons – and putting up a career-high 87.1 percent success rate from the charity stripe. The Cavaliers now have Jarrett Allen handling the majority of minutes down low as well, a favorable matchup for Jokic. Finally, consider Cleveland ranks in the bottom half or bottom five of the league in points (113.0), rebounds (52.2), assists (25.2), steals (8.4) and blocks (6.1) per game allowed, giving Jokic an abundance of paths to rack up another significant haul of fantasy points.
Joel Embiid, C, Philadelphia 76ers (vs. Bulls): More Than 50.5 Fantasy Points
Embiid has cleared this benchmark in 12 of 23 games, including nine of his last 12. He’s sporting career highs in points (29.7), steals (1.3), overall shooting percentage (54.0) and three-point shooting percentage (39.7), making him one of the most versatile assets at the center position outside of Jokic. Friday’s matchup shapes up well for Embiid to eclipse this number, as he owns a two-inch height advantage on Wendell Carter and towers over the 6-foot-8 Thaddeus Young at power forward even more. Chicago also comes in ranked in the bottom half of the league in points (116.2), points in the paint (48.1), steals (8.2) and blocks (5.1) allowed per road game, strengthening Embiid’s case even further.

Zion Williamson, PF, New Orleans Pelicans (vs. Phoenix Suns): More Than 45.5 Fantasy Points
Williamson is on a torrid pace over the last four games, averaging 32.3 points (on 71.0 percent shooting), 5.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.5 steals across 33.8 minutes. He’s eclipsed this fantasy-point benchmark in seven games, and he’s come within 1.1 MKF point or less of doing it on four other occasions. Williamson has exceeded it in three of the last nine games alone, one of those instances coming at the expense of these same Suns on Feb. 3. Friday’s game has an elevated projected total of 229 points, and even though Phoenix has been a very good defensive team overall, the Suns have allowed 50.4 MKF points per game to power forwards over the last 10.
Fred VanVleet, SG, Toronto Raptors (at Minnesota Timberwolves): More Than 41.5 Fantasy Points
VanVleet has exceeded 50 MKF points in three of the last six games alone, and he’s scored at least 42 MKF points in 14 of 29 games this season. Kyle Lowry could well miss Friday’s game with the thumb and ankle injuries that sidelined him Thursday, and VanVleet went into Thursday’s win over the Bucks with a 27.5 percent usage rate and averaging 44.4 MKF points per 36 minutes without his backcourt mate on the floor this season. The Timberwolves also rank in the bottom 10 in offensive efficiency allowed to shooting guards (52.8 percent) and have yielded 54.8 MKF points per game to two-guards over the last 10 contests on averages of 33.1 points, 9.2 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.3 steals surrendered to the position.
