We’re now one month into the 2021 MLB season, and we’ve seen some interesting storylines so far. The Boston Red Sox have the best record in baseball. The San Francisco Giants are currently leading the NL West. Mike Trout continues to dominate as the Los Angeles Angels toil away in last place in the AL West. Even though it’s still early, it’s definitely a good time to see check in on 2021 World Series odds because we could get solid value on a contending team that has gotten off to a slow start. 2021 World Series May Odds: Sleeper Bet Picks
St. Louis Cardinals (+3000)
The St. Louis Cardinals currently sit atop the NL Central with a 21-14 record. Prized acquisition Nolan Arenado is fitting in like a glove while the team has gotten solid innings from Adam Wainwright and Carlos Martinez, giving them some depth behind Jack Flaherty. They also have a solid bullpen led by Alex Reyes and Giovanny Gallegos. This is too good of a price to pass up.
Tampa Bay Rays (+2500)
The Tampa Bay Rays were 2020 World Series finalists, and they’re off to a 19-17 start this season. This year’s team has two electric arms in Shane McClanahan and Luis Patiño. They also have a full season from 2020 breakout chip Randy Arozarena, and Austin Meadows looks to be bouncing back. The Rays remain one of the better teams in baseball, but they’re simply priced too low right now.
Toronto Blue Jays (+2500)
The Toronto Blue Jays have a powerful lineup led by Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who is finally becoming the player that we envisioned when he was tearing up the minor leagues. George Springer has barely played so far, yet the team is 17-16. While the pitching is thin behind Hyun-Jin Ryu, the team has prospect capital to address the rotation at the deadline. Don’t sleep on this young squad.
2021 World Series May Odds: Best Bet Pick
Los Angeles Dodgers (+325)
The Los Angeles Dodgers have gotten off to a slow start at 18-17, but this team is simply way too stacked to avoid, even at this price. While they lost Dustin May to Tommy John surgery, Julio Urias is starting to look like an ace, giving them four aces in their rotation. Add in the best offense in baseball led by Mookie Betts and you have a heavy favorite. I think there’s still value at +325.
