Monday Night Football Prediction Week 5
Entering this game, both the Colts and the Ravens are among the most injury-plagued teams in the league this season. They’ve each lost several Pro Bowl players to long-term injuries and are having to find ways to win without them.
For both sides, this is a key game as they need to win to stay competitive in the AFC.
However, the Ravens are the favorites here, and they should win based solely on how well Lamar Jackson is playing this season. He’s improved as a passer and is finding a way to make the offense successful despite several starters being out on the offensive line and at running back.
The Colts are well-coached and are among the most mentally tough teams in the NFL, so expect them to hang around in this game and make Baltimore work. Still, it’s hard to envision the Ravens not winning this game at home in primetime.
MNF Week 5 Pick: Ravens 24, Colts 21
Monday Night Football Best Bets Week 5
MNF Best Bet: Colts +7.5 (-110) at Caesars
Wager: 0.5 Units
The Colts have not had a lot of team success against the Ravens in the past. In fact, they’ve lost four of their last five meetings against Baltimore.
However, seven points is a lot in this game, especially when the Ravens are beat up on both sides of the ball.
The hope is that Carson Wentz will be healthier now in Week 5 after suffering two ankle sprains in Week 3. He is coming off the best game of his Indianapolis career in Week 4, throwing for 228 yards and two touchdowns.
If Wentz can manage to not turn the ball over and if the Colts can find some success on the ground with Jonathan Taylor, they can win this game.
The best bet here is to take the Colts +7.5 and hope this is a tight game late in the fourth quarter, per our NFL gameday odds. It is worth mentioning that the Colts have managed to cover the spread in 10 of their last meetings against the Ravens. Look for them to do it again in Week 5.
MNF Best Bet: Under 46.5 points (-110) at BetMGM
Wager: 0.5 Units
Over the last few seasons, the Ravens have had one of the best offenses in the NFL. They finished No. 1 in total points in 2019 and No. 7 in 2020. However, the offense hasn’t been quite as good this season.
Over the last two weeks, the Ravens have scored only 42 combined points against the Broncos and the Lions.
The Colts have really struggled on offense as well. They are averaging under 21 points per game and they lack explosiveness on offense.
Look for this game to be shortened by both teams as they try to establish the run. That is likely to lead to limited points being scored, allowing the Under to hit in primetime.
Expect the winning team to score only around 24 points in this Monday Night Football showdown.
