Cowboys vs Chargers Prediction
The Cowboys suffered a significant injury in Week 1, losing wide receiver Michael Gallup to a calf injury that landed him on IR. They still have Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb at the position, however, so they aren’t lacking talented pass-catchers. They’ll also be looking for a bounce-back performance from Ezekiel Elliott, who was held to just 33 yards on 11 carries by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Chargers pulled off a big win on the road in Week 1 with a 20-16 victory over the Washington Football Team. Herbert picked up right where he left off last year, completing 31 of 47 passes for 337 yards and a touchdown. He did so without targeting Austin Ekeler, who rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.
Prescott figures to be a much tougher matchup for LA’s defense compared to Ryan Fitzpatrick and Taylor Heinicke, however. Prescott is coming off a massive Week 1 performance that saw him throw 58 times for 403 yards and three touchdowns against the Bucs.
After narrowly losing to the defending Super Bowl champions by two points on the road, Dallas is certainly capable of pulling out a road win here against a less formidable opponent. This game should be close and figures to be high-scoring, but my money’s on the Cowboys here.
Prediction: Cowboys 30, Chargers 27

Cowboys vs Chargers Best Bets
Best Bet: Cowboys Over 25.5 Points (-115) at DraftKings
Dallas scoring 29 points on the road against Tampa Bay’s stout defense was impressive, especially considering Elliott wasn’t much of a factor. RG Zack Martin‘s return from the COVID-19 should give the offensive line a boost and provide more room for Zeke to operate. Dallas has averaged 35 points per game over Prescott’s last five starts and appears poised for another big offensive performance here.
Best Bet: Dak Prescott Over 305.5 Passing Yards (-115) at DraftKings
The fact that Prescott threw the ball 58 times in Week 1 is a good omen for the over on his yardage prop this week. He’s now attempted at least 47 passes in each of his last four full games and has topped 50 in each of his last three. In what projects to be a high-scoring game with a total set at 54.5, Prescott could blow past the over here.
Best Bet: CeeDee Lamb: Over 5.5 Receptions (-135) at DraftKings
Lamb and Cooper should take on expanded roles moving forward with Gallup sidelined. Not only did Lamb haul in seven receptions in Week 1, but he also received a whopping 15 targets. Frankly, taking the over on Cooper’s prop of 5.5 receptions (-130) is also appealing.

Cowboys +3.5 & Cowboys Over 2.5 Total Touchdowns (+135) at DraftKings
Given that I expect Dallas to win a high-scoring game, I’ll combine their spread bet with a team touchdown prop for my same game parlay.
