Bills vs. Dolphins Predictions Week 2 - NFL Pick of the Day
The Buffalo Bills came into the season as the favorites to repeat as AFC East Champions. However, they had a tough opponent in the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1, which saw them drop their season opener at home by a score of 23-16. The Bills jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first half, but they never really found their rhythm offensively, which allowed the Steelers to get back into the game, and later, take a lead they would not relinquish.
The Bills’ offensive line also had trouble with feared pass rushers T.J. Watt and Cameron Heyward, who kept the heat on Josh Allen all afternoon. Overall it was a sloppy game for the Bills, who fumbled four times and lost two of them while allowing three sacks. They also committed eight penalties for 81 yards.
As for the Dolphins, Brian Flores’ bunch got off to a good start with a close 17-16 victory over the New England Patriots. However, they nearly blew it in the end, if not for Xavien Howard, who saved the day with a game-sealing strip of Damien Harris in the red zone with 3:30 to go.
Now, these two AFC East rivals are set to clash with each other in Week 2. Although the Dolphins went 10-6 last season and are no slouches, the Bills have too much riding on the line to not find a way to win this game. The Game Day is here to provide picks, predictions, and analysis for this Week 2 AFC East division matchup.

Bills vs. Dolphins Prediction
The Dolphins endured a back-and-forth contest with the Patriots and nearly let their lead slip away after an ill-advised heave downfield into heavy traffic by Tua Tagovailoa, which resulted in an interception in the fourth quarter. Luckily, their defense saved Tagovailoa’s tail with a critical takeaway of their own, slamming the door shut on a New England comeback.
After pulling out this victory, the Dolphins will now face the tough task of playing the Bills, who did not perform up to their typical standards in their first contest against the Steelers.
Miami is going to try to put pressure on Josh Allen after the Bills’ offensive line struggled in Week 1. This is why I believe Buffalo will do everything they can to establish their running game, which will, in turn, set up their play-action passing attack.
While the Dolphins looked like a solid team in their first meaningful game of the season, I don’t think they are on the same level as the Bills yet. The Bills will most likely find their footing this week against the Dolphins, and it is only a matter of time before Buffalo’s offense wakes up. But they must clean up the turnover and penalty issues.
Both teams have strong defenses, but the Bills’ unit could give fits to Dolphins’ second-year quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who is careless with the football at times. On top of this, the Bills only allowed 75 rushing yards, so if they take away the running game, the pressure will be on Tagovailoa to do too much.
The Dolphins’ defense also struggled to get off the field on third down against Patriots rookie Mac Jones, which is good for the Bills, as Josh Allen had an NFL-best 67% completion percentage on third down last season. For that, the best bet would be to take the Bills topping the Dolphins by a score of 27-13.
Betting Pick: Bills 27, Dolphins 13
Buffalo Bills vs Miami Dolphins Best Bets
Best Bet: Bills Moneyline (-180) at DraftKings
I really like the value of this moneyline bet for the Bills in Week 2 versus the Dolphins. Despite going through some offensive struggles, along with a second-half collapse against the Steelers, I don’t see the Bills going 0-2 to start the season.
The Dolphins are a team on the rise, but they will have their work cut out for them against the reigning AFC East champs. Bills quarterback Josh Allen was an MVP candidate last season, and although he is facing another impressive defense, I expect him to look more like himself in this game.
I believe that Buffalo will assert their dominance in this divisional matchup and win outright, making this -180 moneyline bet at DraftKings good value.
Best Bet: Under 47.5 (-110) at DraftKings
[pick id"35383"]
This game features two playoff contenders in the AFC, but don’t count on it being a high-scoring contest. Each team has a stout defense, and this should be a hard-fought battle where every point matters.
The Dolphins’ defense cracked a bit down the stretch of their Week 1 matchup with the Patriots, but Xavien Howard came up with a huge takeaway to seal their victory. Both teams will also try to establish the run against each other, so you can expect this to be an old-school ground-and-pound type of football game.
You should not anticipate a shootout between the Bills and Dolphins, and that’s why you would be smart to take the under at -110 per DraftKings.
Best Bet: Devin Singletary To Rush for over 36.5 yards (-115) at DraftKings
Bills running back Devin Singletary rushed for 72 yards on only 11 carries against the Steelers in Week 1. After the Dolphins allowed 100 yards on the ground to Damien Harris, you can expect the Bills to try to set the tone with their running game.
This is why it would be fair to expect Singletary to easily rush for over 36.5 yards in this contest against the Dolphins. DraftKings’ currently has their odds set at -115 for Singletary to eclipse this mark, which I believe is a logical and safe bet.
Bills vs. Dolphins Same Game Parlay Picks
Same Game Parlay Odds: +455
- Buffalo Bills ML (-180) at DraftKings
- Under 47.5 Points (-110) at DraftKings
- Devin Singletary To Rush for over 36.5 yards (-115) at DraftKings
When taking a look at parlays for this AFC East divisional matchup, I really like the Bills to win outright with the moneyline at -180 and for these two teams to score under 47.5 points.
The final domino I would bet on in this game is for the Bills running back Devin Singletary to find rush for over 36.5 yards, as this contest should see both teams heavily utilizing their rushing offense.
