NFL Most Valuable Player Futures Odds

Since 2013, a quarterback has won the award in every season. The last non-quarterback to win the award was Adrian Peterson in 2012, who totaled 2,314 yards and 13 touchdowns.

But with the NFL turning into a pass-heavy league, it seems likely that we will get another quarterback MVP this season. So who has the best odds right now, and who might be a sleeper worth betting on?

Here are the current odds, courtesy of BetMGM:

  • Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (+550)
  • Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (+600)
  • Buccaneers QB Tom Brady (+700)
  • Rams QB Matthew Staford (+1100)
  • Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (+1300)
  • Bills QB Josh Allen (+1400)
  • Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (+1600)
  • Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (+1600)
  • Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (+1800)
  • Raiders QB Derek Carr (+2000)

The top 10 players, listed above, are all quarterbacks. The top non-quarterback is Derrick Henry (+5000).

While that bet is appealing after he totaled over 200 yards and three touchdowns in Week 2, it’s worth mentioning that he totaled 2,141 yards and 17 touchdowns last year and still didn’t get a single MVP vote.

If you are going to bet on the NFL MVP award, make sure you are picking a quarterback. But which one should you wager on?

Let’s get into some of the best bets currently on the board.

Best NFL Most Valuable Player Bets

Rams QB Matthew Safford (+1100) at BetMGM

When the Rams traded for Matthew Stafford this offseason, everybody knew it was a perfect match. He joined one of the best play-callers in the NFL in Sean McVay and an offense with playmakers all over the field.

Unsurprisingly, after two weeks, he’s posted MVP-type of numbers in Los Angeles.

Stafford is completing nearly 70% of his passes and averaging 10.7 yards per attempt. His passer rating is an incredible 127, as he’s thrown 5 touchdowns to just 1 interception.

The Rams look like a team that could actually challenge the Buccaneers in the NFC, and they will get their first crack at them in Week 3. With a strong performance in that game, Stafford could instantly become the MVP front runner after three weeks.

He is a great value at (+1100) right now, making this our pick of the day.

Matthew Stafford, QB, Los Angeles Rams

Matthew Stafford has looked comfortable with his new team, throwing for 5 touchdowns and nearly 600 yards through his first two weeks of action.

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (+1300) at BetMGM

Aaron Rodgers is likely in his last season with the Green Bay Packers. So wouldn’t it be fitting for the reigning MVP to win another one, just to rub it in to front office?

Despite an awful Week 1 performance, Rodgers was terrific on Monday Night Football in Week 2. He completed over 81% of his passes and threw for 4 touchdowns.

This is an offense that should put up a ton of points this season, and Rodgers could easily get to 50 touchdowns.

Next week will be a huge game for Rodgers and his MVP case, as he’ll take on the San Francisco 49ers. This is a team he has really struggled against in the past two seasons, and a dominant performance on the Sunday night stage will likely stick in the minds of voters.

If he plays well in that game, look for these odds to drop to (+600) or (+700) by this time next week.

Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (+1800) at BetMGM

With Lamar Jackson’s performance in Week 2 against the Chiefs, he is officially back in the MVP race. Through two games, he has 193 rushing yards on top of 474 passing yards.

Jackson won the MVP in 2019 when he totaled 4,333 yards and 43 touchdowns. He is on pace to smash those numbers this year after a hot start.

The Ravens have so many injuries within their offense, including three running backs being lost for the season. If Jackson can get Baltimore back into the playoffs and potentially win the AFC North, he will have made a great case to win his second MVP award.

At (+1800), Jackson is a strong bet considering we know he is capable of winning the award and putting up massive numbers.

NFL Most Valuable Player Award Predictions 2021

Buccaneers QB Tom Brady to Win NFL MVP (+700) at BetMGM

Do you know what is a pretty good indicator of future MVP winners? Previous MVP winners.

Tom Brady has three MVPs to his name, but it wouldn’t be surprising at all if he made it a goal of his this year to win a fourth.

Brady appears to be stat-chasing some this season, as he has already thrown nine touchdowns. Many of those touchdowns are short ones, where Tampa Bay easily could have called runs for Leonard Fournette.

If Tampa Bay earns the No. 1 seed in the NFC and Brady throws 40 or more touchdowns, it’s going to be hard for voters not to pick him. Brady should have another monster statistical season with the Buccaneers and he is a great value at (+700) after two weeks.
