MLB Props Of The Day: Best Baseball Props Today 9/30/21
J.D. Martinez, Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles (7:05 p.m. ET)
With the Red Sox fighting for an AL Wild Card spot, there’s no danger of them rolling out a compromised lineup. That means they should be at full strength against Orioles lefty Alexander Wells, who has a 7.61 ERA and a 1.75 WHIP over 36 2/3 innings.
Martinez is already one of the most productive hitters on the Red Sox, logging 99 RBIs this season. He also has a career 151 wRC+ against left-handed pitchers. If the Red Sox explode offensively, Martinez could be right in the thick of it.
To Record An RBI (+135)
Wager: 0.75 units (win would pay 1.76 units)
Joe Ryan, Minnesota Twins vs. Detroit Tigers (7:40 p.m. ET)
Ryan mowed down the Cubs in his last start, recording 11 strikeouts over five innings. His prowess in that department should come as no surprise given that he never had a strikeout rate below 34.7 percent during any of his stops in the minors.
The Tigers have had one of the more anemic lineups in baseball, scoring the eighth-fewest runs, but the key stat for this prop is that they have struck out the fourth-most times. At plus odds, the risk could be well worth the reward taking the over.
Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+120)
Wager: 0.75 units (win would pay 1.65 units)
Scott Kazmir, San Francisco Giants vs. Arizona Diamondbacks (9:45 p.m. ET)
The Giants have worked their way into a playoff spot on the strength of their veteran-laden starting rotation. One of their most recent additions has been Kazmir, who has only made four appearances with the team.
While Kazmir is set to start this game, don’t expect him to log a ton of innings. He hasn’t pitched more than four innings in any of his appearances, which contributed to him recording three strikeouts or fewer all four times. While the Diamondbacks have struck out the seventh most times in the league, the likelihood that Kazmir’s innings are limited still makes this wager appealing.
