Boston Red Sox Moneyline (-120) at DraftKings
The Red Sox are coming off a momentum-shifting 13-inning victory in Game 3 and will look to close the series out tonight at Fenway Park, where they are 51-32 this year (including 2-0 in the postseason). Since getting shut out in Game 1, Boston has outscored Tampa Bay 20-10 over the past two games.
Both teams will be short-handed on pitching today, but at least the Red Sox have a proven starter they can turn to in Eduardo Rodriguez. The Rays have yet to announce their starter for Game 4, but whoever they choose will be hard-pressed to stop Boston’s red-hot lineup in front of a raucous crowd.
Los Angeles Dodgers Moneyline (-210) at DraftKings
Similar to the Red Sox, The Dodgers bounced back with a big win in Game 2 after getting blanked in Game 1. With the series shifting to Los Angeles for Game 3, Max Scherzer will look to put the Dodgers ahead. The Giants are rolling with Alex Wood, who is making just his third career postseason start and is nowhere near Scherzer’s level as a pitcher.
Los Angeles has also hit lefties well recently, so look for their bats to have another big performance in Game 3.
Milwaukee Brewers Moneyline (-105) at DraftKings
Freddy Peralta will take the mound for Milwaukee in Game 3 as the Brewers look to retake the series lead. The Braves will counter with sophomore right-hander Ian Anderson in Atlanta.
While Anderson (9-5, 3.58 ERA) was solid this year, Peralta (10-5, 2.81 ERA) was even better with a 0.97 WHIP and 12.2 K/9. Accordingly, I’m taking the superior and more experienced starter in this matchup.
Chicago White Sox Moneyline (-135) at DraftKings
After dropping Games 1 and 2 in Houston, the White Sox bounced back with a 12-6 victory at home in Game 3 to avoid elimination. In Game 4 they’ll turn to Carlos Rodon to even the series, which seems likely given his regular-season dominance this year (13-5, 2.37 ERA).
Chicago should continue to hit well against Jose Urquidy, who has a career 4.13 FIP and 7.4 K/9 rate. Take the Sox to even this series and force Game 5.
San Francisco Giants & Los Angeles Dodgers Over 7.5 Total Runs (+105) at DraftKings
These teams ranked first and second among NL teams in scoring this year, so we should expect plenty of fireworks in Game 3. Even with Scherzer on the bump for Los Angeles, there’s just too much offensive talent on both sides to take the Under, especially if he comes out after the fifth or sixth inning.
The Dodgers will stack their lineup with righties against Wood and take advantage of the friendly matchup against their former teammate. As they proved in Game 2, LA is capable of hitting this Over by themselves.
ALDS & NLDS Parlay Best Bet (+1785) at DraftKings
At +1785 odds, this MLB bet of the day has exceptional value. The MLB playoffs typically come down to pitching, and each of these picks is indicative of that. My first four legs support the better starting pitcher, while the last one is banking on the lineups of two offensive powerhouses.
