Red Sox Moneyline (-120) at DraftKings
I still like the Rays to win this series overall, but how can I possibly suggest betting against the Red Sox? They are coming off a Game 2 where they scored 14 runs and had 20 hits. The offense is red-hot right now and I don’t think Rays’ starter Drew Rasmussen is experienced enough to carry them past Boston.
Back the Sox on the moneyline as they play in front of their home crowd and look to take a series lead.
Red Sox/Rays OVER 8.5 runs (-120) at DraftKings
As I have mentioned already, the Red Sox offense is lethal and has proven already that they can hit some of the best arms on the Rays’ pitching staff. The Rays scored six runs of their own in Game 2 and are no slouch in the offensive department. I don’t expect the Rays to necessarily get to Nathan Eovaldi in bunches, but they can certainly attack the bullpen with ease. Back the over.
Astros Moneyline (+105) at DraftKings
The White Sox have simply looked outmatched in this series despite going to their co-aces of Lance Lynn and Lucas Giolito in Games 1 and 2, respectively. The Astros’ offense is firing on all cylinders right now and is showing no signs of slowing down.
Dylan Cease will be taking the mound for the White Sox against rookie Luis Garcia. Both of these pitchers had respectable 2021 campaigns, but I’m going to back the better bullpen and the better team overall in this one.
Astros/White Sox UNDER 8.5 runs (-105) at DraftKings
I’m a fan of both Dylan Cease and Luis Garcia overall and I think they both pitch well enough to help the UNDER hit in this one.
The Astros notoriously crush velocity better than any other team in baseball, and Cease ranked in the 92nd percentile in fastball velocity this season, according to Baseball Savant.
Still, the right-handed Cease had the type of stuff that could mitigate that ability of the Astros. The White Sox lineup has not performed to expectations so far in this series and there’s always a chance of a breakout, but I’m not buying it.
ALDS Game 3 Parlay (+1245) at BetMGM
At +686 odds, this MLB bet of the day has tremendous value. The MLB playoffs typically come down to pitching strength and each of these picks are indicative of that. In all four picks, I not only backing the better starting pitcher, but also the better pitching staff as a collective unit.
