2021 Blue Jays Win Total Bet: How Many Games Will Toronto Win?
2021 Blue Jays Win Total
86.5 wins (BetMGM)
The Blue Jays are going to make some noise in the NL East this year, and it’s been a long while since they had any sort of hope in their perennially tough division. A young core that includes budding star shortstop Bo Bichette, top pitching prospect Nate Pearson, and a new-look Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is sure to push for a Wild Card spot at minimum.
In last year’s offseason, the Jays surprised everyone by signing one of the most underrated pitchers in baseball in left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu. This offseason, everyone expected them to make a big move and they did by bringing in star outfielder George Springer. The Blue Jays didn’t stop there, though, also adding elite reliever Kirby Yates and shortstop Marcus Semien to a sneaky-good roster.
The Blue Jays have a lineup that will likely be one of the best in the American League if everyone clicks in 2021, but their pitching staff might not have enough firepower to compete with the powerhouse New York Yankees. Nate Pearson looks like a future ace, but after him and Ryu, they have a lot to improve upon. They will need some solid performances from men like Robbie Ray, Tanner Roark, and whatever prospects they have arriving in the near future.
Their farm system is loaded, but it is yet to be determined who can come up in 2021. First-rounders like Alek Manoah could make a huge impact this season.
2021 Blue Jays Win Total Bet
Under 86.5 wins (-110)
The Blue Jays’ win total currently sits at 86.5 according to BetMGM, and while I like their roster overall, that seems a bit high. The AL East is not nearly as loaded as it normally is with the Orioles and Red Sox standing as punching bags and the Rays taking a step back from the team that took them to the 2020 World Series. The Yankees are the only team standing in their way, but it is yet to be confirmed whether or not the Jays will be a punching bag for the Yankees. They can make the Wild Card or at least be in the hunt, but I would count them out almost entirely from being true contenders for the division title.
The Under is the play here.
