12/28/20 NBA Player Prop Bets: Monday won’t be the busiest of nights in the NBA with just five games on the schedule, but we have some appealing Dec. 28 NBA player props on the board. I’ll look to improve my season record of 1-3 from last week’s opening night with the following three wagers to consider.
All odds were obtained from PointsBet.
12/28/20 NBA Player Prop Bets
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Utah Jazz
Over 30.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-114)
Wager: 1.25 units (win would pay 2.35)
After having their first game of the season postponed because of an outbreak of COVID-19 on the Houston Rockets, the Thunder finally made their debut Saturday against the Hornets.
They pulled off the win, in large part, because of Gilgeous-Alexander recording 24 points, seven rebounds and nine assists. He logged 34 minutes in that contest and attempted 20 shots, which are two encouraging stats for his chances of hitting the over here.
With so little talent around him, look for him to once again have plenty of opportunities to stuff the stat sheet.
Michael Porter Jr., Denver Nuggets vs. Houston Rockets
Over 13.5 Points (-115)
Wager: 1 unit (win would pay 1.87)
Porter entered this season with a more prominent role for the Nuggets, and he immediately cashed in with 24 points on 15 shot attempts in their season opener against the Sacramento Kings.
However, he only logged 23 minutes in a lopsided loss to the Clippers on Christmas, scoring 10 points in the process.
The Rockets enter this game shorthanded as they continue to deal with COVID-19 issues, so look for Porter to take advantage and put forth a strong offensive showing.
Jerami Grant, Pistons at Hawks
Over 20.5 Points + Rebounds (-118)
Wager: 1 unit (win would pay 1.85)
Grant is coming off a monster game Saturday in which he produced 28 points and 10 rebounds against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
He’s already expected to be one of the Pistons’ main contributors this season and they are going to need him even more Monday with Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose sitting out for rest.
The Hawks played at the seventh-fastest pace in the league last year and have played at the sixth-fastest pace in the early going this season, which should afford Grant with even more opportunities to hit the over.
