Week 0 of college football is in the books, which means betting on game props and player props is back on the menu.
Teams will need time to get transfers or new starters acclimated early in the season, making it crucial to be somewhat reserved until we have more information on how some programs will operate.
With some intriguing matchups taking place in Week 1, we’ll be taking a look at a couple of game, team, and player props that are worth wagering on.
CFB Week 1 Best Props
Penn State: Over 50.5 Points (-115)
DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit
In Week 1, Penn State will host Nevada. Penn State is favored by 44.5 points and understandably so. Nevada is bringing back just 29% of their production from last season, which ranks 132nd in college football.
Now, they have to go on the road and face Penn State, a team that was extremely close to making it to the national championship game.
Penn State’s roster is similar, but they did lose players like tight end Tyler Warren to the NFL.
Over their last three games last season, Nevada allowed an average of 314 rushing yards per game, which doesn’t bode well against a team with running backs like Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton.
I expect quarterback Drew Allar to be sharp and use this game to build chemistry with his new trio of receivers, which include Kyron Hudson, Devonte Ross, and Trebor Pena.
Penn State is going to win big and score a bunch.
Alabama: Over 3.5 Touchdowns (-165)
DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit
Alabama is on the road in Week 1, but they’re taking on the lowly Florida State Seminoles, a team that I’m not concerned with in the slightest.
Although we haven’t seen much of Ty Simpson, we know he has some experience, having been with Alabama since 2022. That said, he’s attempted just 50 live passes.
Still, that experience will pay dividends against a Florida State team that has just five players returning on defense.
Florida State’s cornerbacks, Ja’Bril Rawls and Jerry Wilson, will have to cover Alabama’s Germie Bernard and Ryan Williams at various points, and that won’t end well.
Rawls played 57 coverage snaps last season and allowed seven catches on seven targets.
As for Wilson, he transferred in from Houston, and he allowed 15.8 yards per catch and two touchdowns on 17 receptions.
Florida State is Wilson’s third stop after beginning his career at Syracuse.
Alabama will score plenty and eclipse four touchdowns, whether through the air or running the ball, making this one of my top CFB props for Week 1.

CFB Week 1 Player Props
DeAndre Moore Jr.: Anytime TD Scorer (+190)
DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 0.5 Units
Moore Jr. heads into Week 1 against Ohio State with Arch Manning as his quarterback.
Manning started just two games last season for an injured Quinn Ewers, but in his second, against Mississippi State, he found Moore Jr. for two touchdowns, including one that went for 50 yards.

Moore Jr. will likely see a lot of Lorenzo Styles Jr., the nickel for Ohio State.
Last season, across 99 coverage snaps, Styles Jr. left a bit to be desired and played just nine snaps against Texas in the College Football Playoff.
Moore Jr. is in a good spot to score.
LaNorris Sellers: 50+ Rushing Yards (-123)
DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 0.5 Unit
In Week 1, the South Carolina Gamecocks are favored by 7.5 points against Virginia Tech at home, which leads me to think this game will be closer and result in more rushing opportunities for Sellers.
To kick off last season, Sellers ran for 68 yards against Old Dominion.
Two weeks later, in a 36-33 loss to LSU, he ran for 88 yards.
- Read up on even more CFB betting tips for Week 1.
The Gamecocks did lose their starting running back from last season, so that could lead to easing Rahsul Faison more into the mix.
Sellers has a lot of hype this season and is facing a Hokies defense that has just three returning players on defense.
In Week 1, 50 rushing yards for a prepared and ready Sellers should be an easy mark to meet.
