The lone Top-25 matchup of this week’s college football slate sees No. 9 Missouri (4-0) heading down to College Station for a meeting with No. 25 Texas A&M (4-1) this Saturday, Oct. 5, at noon ET.
The Tigers are coming off a bye week, but before that, they nearly survived an overtime scare from unranked Vanderbilt. Meanwhile, the Aggies have won four in a row since losing at home to Notre Dame in Week 1, including a 21-17 victory over Arkansas this past weekend.

Missouri vs Texas A&M Prediction
Missouri 23, Texas A&M 17
Rankings aside, I’m surprised to see Missouri listed as an underdog ahead of its bout with Texas A&M. Yes, the Tigers have been somewhat underwhelming, but they remain undefeated and bring one of the nation’s best defenses into College Station.
The Aggies are 4-1, but they haven’t played quite as well as their record suggests. Narrow victories over Bowling Green and Arkansas aren’t all that inspiring, and the offense has looked far too inconsistent whether it’s been Conner Weigman or Marcel Reed under center.

The difference for me comes down to reliability. Texas A&M hasn’t been able to deliver in the big moments thus far, and while Missouri’s games have been closer than one would hope, the Tigers have consistently found ways to come out on top and make winning plays on both sides of the ball.
The Aggies could control this game for a while, but they’ll need near-perfect QB play to overcome a Missouri defense that has been stellar against the run. Ultimately, the Tigers should come away with a narrow victory.
Sportsbook Play of the Day
Missouri vs Texas A&M Best Bets
Missouri Moneyline (+100) @ Texas A&M
The Tigers slipped up and nearly lost to Vanderbilt when we last saw them take the field, but I don’t see them taking Texas A&M nearly as lightly. It’s well-known how difficult it is to win in Aggieland, and this is the first major test of the season for Mizzou.
The Aggies have gotten accustomed to working the ground game, but they struggled to get it going against Notre Dame and Arkansas, and Missouri may have the best run defense of the three. If the Tigers can shut it down, it’ll be difficult for A&M to rely on its quarterback play to win the game.
Texas A&M is 1-4 against the spread when favored this season, but at this small of a margin, it’s best to just pick Missouri to win outright. Take advantage of the favorable (+100) odds and make this your college football bet of the day.
Under 49.5 Points (-110)
Overs are a combined 3-6 for these two teams this season, so already, the Under is looking like the way to go at this 49.5-point margin. That’s not the only reason I’m banking on this being a low-scoring game, though.
As mentioned above, Missouri has the right formula to win this game on defense. It’s been terrific against the run so far, and Texas A&M’s passing game has fallen short of expectations. Without a reliable means of keeping up, the Aggies could struggle to string together scoring drives.
