Missouri vs Princeton Predictions | Odds & Best Bets

Last Updated: Mar 17, 2023

The Missouri Tigers and Princeton Tigers are scheduled to face off in the Round of 32 in what is one of the more surprising matchups in the bracket so far. Missouri defeated a very solid Utah State team to advance, and Princeton pulled off the major upset of Arizona to get here.

This has all the makings of being one of the more interesting games in Round 2 of March Madness.

Missouri vs Princeton Prediction

Princeton 71, Missouri 69

Princeton is a quite heavy underdog in this matchup, but I believe it stems largely from the fact that they are not nearly as battle-tested as Missouri is. Princeton is coming off an impressive victory over Arizona and will be coming in with all the momentum.

Missouri is an excellent team in its own right, checking in with the 9th-best AdjO mark in the country, according to KenPom. However, momentum cannot be discounted, and I believe Princeton not only covers behind Tosan Evbuomwan, but also wins outright.

Princeton +6.5 (-110) BetRivers Sportsbook

WAGER: 2 Units

To follow up on the belief that Princeton wins outright, it only feels proper to back them against the spread. Princeton has played a lot of very close games throughout the season and has done quite well in them during Ivy League conference play.

Missouri has the offensive firepower to lead a blowout in this spot, but Princeton has looked like the fundamentally sound team lately that it had the potential to be all season.

Princeton is understandably an underdog here given the public notion that it is a longshot to advance, but I like it to at least cover in this spot, especially with such a lofty spread working in their favor.

Under 151 Total Points (-108) BetRivers Sportsbook

WAGER: 2 Units

The betting total for this matchup does not make much sense to me considering the recent trends for both of these teams. Across Princeton’s last five games, it has allowed just 63 points per game and have scored 69 points per game itself.

This adds up to just 132 points, 19 shy of the betting total.

With Missouri, its offense is what its calling card is, so it could put points up on the board in a hurry. However, the offensive pace they played at during the regular season is mostly a product of the SEC in general being so up-tempo.

Overall, I believe this is a great spot to back the Under in a game that should be close, but play much slower than Missouri has become accustomed to.

WAGER: 0.5 units

  • Princeton (+240)
  • Under 151 (-108)

Missouri vs Princeton SGP

Instead of taking Princeton against the spread, I like the moneyline odds much better for a same-game parlay. There’s a massive difference in the parlay odds between the plus-odds moneyline for Princeton and the standard -110 spread.

Go for the knockout and back Princeton and the Under where a $100 wager nets $500 in profit.
