The NBA Play-In Tournament kicks off on Tuesday night in the Western Conference with the Lakers taking on the Timberwolves. The winner will face the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round and the loser will take on the winner of Pelicans vs Thunder.
The Timberwolves have suspended center Rudy Gobert for the contest, and the momentum is on the Lakers side heading into this matchup. The Lakers are now 8.5-point favorites, but there is some value in building parlays for this contest.
Let’s dive into the best same-game parlays for this matchup.
Lakers vs Timberwolves Best Same Game Parlay
Lakers vs Timberwolves Best SGP (+155) • DraftKings Sportsbook
WAGER: 1 Unit
- Lakers Moneyline (-380)
- Anthony Davis: 20+ Points (-700)
- Anthony Edwards: 20+ Points (-700)
- Kyle Anderson: 5+ Assists (-230)
This is a smash spot for Anthony Davis and even more so now without Gobert in the lineup. The last time these two teams faced each other, Davis had 38 points.
There is no one to defend the paint now for the Wolves except for Karl-Anthony Towns, who is not a very good defender.
With Gobert sidelined, Anthony Edwards will have to take on more offensive responsibilities. He should easily score 20 points in this game and will most likely attempt north of 20 shots.
The Wolves will also be without Jaden McDaniels, who fractured his hand by punching a wall while leaving the game on Sunday. This means that Kyle Anderson will re-enter the starting lineup and his usage will go up.
Anderson averages 4.9 assists per game, and if he gets 30+ minutes, he should easily hit that threshold for our NBA pick of the day.
Lakers vs Timberwolves Longshot Parlay
Lakers vs Timberwolves Longshot SGP (+1100) • DraftKings Sportsbook
WAGER: 1 Unit
- Anthony Davis: 30+ Points (+185)
- Karl-Anthony Towns: 3+ Three Pointers Made (+120)
- Anthony Davis: 15+ Rebounds (+155)
I really like Davis in this contest, so taking him to score 30+ points in the parlay was a no-brainer. The key will be getting Davis the ball and having him attempt at least 20 field goals.
The only thing that could hurt this play is if this game turns into a blowout, and Davis does not play a lot in the fourth quarter.

With Davis guarding the paint, Towns will most likely rely on his jump shot in this contest. The last time these two teams faced off, Towns went 2-for-7 from beyond the arc. He also just went 5-8 from three against the Pelicans on Sunday.
When the opposing team has a traditional big man, Towns tends to stay out on the perimeter, which should be the case on Tuesday night.
Davis grabbed 17 rebounds against the Wolves in their last matchup, and without Gobert, this 15-plus rebounds shouldn’t be too difficult a feat. The Wolves also are without Naz Reid for the rest of the season and don’t have a true center to replace Gobert.
