Jock MKT Hands-on Review
Jock MKT was established in 2020 and co-founded by Tyler Carlin with a group of investors that includes Left Lane Capital, Will Ventures, Ryan Moore, Brandon Adams, Benjie Cherniak, Tim McSweeney, and Alumni Ventures Group. It is currently available in over 30 U.S. states.
This is an innovative daily fantasy platform that enables users to trade players as if they were stocks. It functions as a traditional stock exchange, where each player is assigned a value that increases or decreases, depending on their performance and public perception.
Users are able to buy or sell players in real-time. That means that you can buy someone pre-game and then sell them immediately after they’ve made a big play. You can also hold onto your shares until the game is done. The site currently offers players from various leagues, such as the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, and the PGA Tour.
It’s an entertaining alternative to the standard DFS setup, where you construct lineups of players while fitting under the salary cap, hoping that they produce at a high level on a day’s slate of games. Users won’t have to worry about competing against seasoned sharks at Jock MKT. You just need to view this as you would with the stock market — buy low and sell high.
How Does Jock MKT Daily Fantasy Sports Work?
DFS traditionally refers to the concept of drafting a team that fits under the salary cap on a given slate of games. Your contest is settled by the end of that day, where you see if you won or lost money, depending on the cumulative production of your players.
Jock MKT moves away from the conventional style, providing users with a marketplace to buy and sell players as if they were stocks. Each player has a value that fluctuates depending on a number of factors, including their current performance, injury status, and public perception.
It’s accessible for both beginners looking for some action as well as high-stakes players looking for a big payday. You can join in for as little as $10 or as much as $10,000. You’re able to buy and hold players for the long-term or make quick trades within minutes.
Here’s an overview of how it works:
- Go to the Jock MKT main page and select your preferred sport.
- Look through the market to see different player values.
- You can filter your search by the player or team name.
- Bid on a player based on their market value.
- In-game prices are determined by the market.
- You can either buy your stocks before the game in the IPO phase or on the open market during the game.
- You can hold until the game concludes and either take a profit or loss based on the closing price or continue trading throughout the game.
- Once the game is done, Jock MKT pays out based on the value of each player share, which is determined by their fantasy production during that game.
- You sell your stock to other players based on prices that change in real-time.
- For example, if you buy a player at $5 per share and they score a long touchdown, raising their price to $10, you can then sell for a $5 profit.
- Alternatively, if you hold that player and they close at an $8.50 value, you would get a $3.50 profit.
- There is also the option to join a contest, where each player has the same number of chips for trading. When the day’s slate is concluded, the player with the most chips wins the contest.

My Jock MKT App Experience
The Jock MKT app really enhanced the user experience with the platform. It was easy to navigate the information and filter my search by player and team. This is important because often you’re pressed for time, especially since the prices can change so quickly, so you want to make your trade as fast as possible.
There are tools available to guide you with your selection, including player game logs that help you get a sense of how they’re performing at that time. You’ll also have access to the latest news that could potentially impact their value.
It was helpful to know about each player’s “break-even rank," which explains where a player needs to finish in order to pay out their current price. For example, Aaron Rodgers might need 22 fantasy points for him to break even at his $10 valuation.
I didn’t experience any issues with lagging here, which is especially important with this stock exchange setup. Imagine if your trade couldn’t go through because the app crashed, resulting in you missing out on potential value since the price then changed? That would ruin the experience, but thankfully, you won’t have to worry about that at Jock MKT.
Should You Play at Jock MKT?
You should definitely play at Jock MKT because it provides a brand-new experience in daily fantasy sports. Being able to buy and sell players as assets on a stock exchange was a refreshing alternative to the traditional format of building lineups under a salary cap.
You won’t have to worry about competing against veterans who enter 150 lineups using optimizers and projections. This makes it a more accessible game for beginners and experienced users alike, especially since you get to choose how much money you put into the market.
It’s also great that Jock MKT retains the fantasy scoring element that makes DFS so popular. Final prices are based on a player’s fantasy production in a given game. Each sport has different scoring formats, where players earn points based on different stats, such as goals in hockey and home runs in baseball.
The scoring mimics traditional fantasy points for each of those sports, with only minor differences. This is great because most DFS players are used to a certain setup, so they’ll appreciate that it closely resembles the conventional scoring.
While the promotions and payment methods are extremely limited, we have to remember that Jock MKT is still a growing platform in the early stages of its development. It’s likely that we’ll see improvements in this regard in the foreseeable future.

Leagues You Can Wager On
You can participate in contests or trade players in the following leagues:
Games You Can Play
There are two types of games that you can play at Jock MKT. Check out a detailed explanation of each contest below.
Market
This is where you can buy stocks of players before or during their game. You’re able to sell the stock to other players at any moment prior to the conclusion of the game.
For example, let’s say that I bought 10 shares of Mike Trout at $7.50 for $75. Imagine that he hits two home runs, bumping his market value to $9.50 per share. I can sell each of my holdings for $95, earning $20 in profit.
I can also hold on to Trout until the game is over and see what his closing price will be. Let’s say that he closes at $9. In that case, I would get $90 for my shares, giving me a $15 profit.
With this game type, you’re able to buy and sell as many players as you want. Their price is settled at the end of the game. You can continue trading on the next day’s slate of games.
You can buy in for as low as $10 and as high as $10,000.
Contest
Each contest has a defined buy-in, which is the same for each player. The competitors are provided with the same number of chips for the assigned slate. The chips are used to buy and sell players.
The player with the most chips at the end of the contest is declared the winner. There is a prize structure that varies depending on the number of entrants as well as the buy-in.
The difference here is that you can’t cash out at any time, you have to wait for the results at the end of the contest.
The similarity is that it still involves live trading, but it’s in more of a tournament style, whereas the market is more like a cash game in poker, where you can sit at the table and leave at any time.
Rewards System
Jock MKT does not currently offer a rewards system, but perhaps we’ll see that in the near future as the platform continues to grow in popularity.
