Hard Rock Bet Hands-on Review

Hard Rock Bet started up in early 2019, prior to the Super Bowl in that year. Hard Rock International has since launched its own initiative called Hard Rock Digital to provide ease of use in the sports betting area of its brand. The online app offers a user-friendly experience.

The sportsbook is currently operating in six states — New Jersey, Iowa, Indiana, Tennessee, Virginia and Arizona. Atlantic City is well-known as being one of the biggest gambling towns in the country and Sioux City, Iowa has enjoyed its fair share of publicity. The site became operational in Arizona as of February 2022.

The betting site has a simplified interface to make it easy to navigate. You’ll find several promotions and betting markets throughout the sportsbook.

If you choose the casino site, Hard Rock Bet will match your first deposit up to $1,000 and if you choose the sportsbook you can receive a $100 first bet match.

You’ll also receive up to 50 free spins of their slot wheel, which can be found in their Rewards/Shop section.

Hard Rock Bet currently provides a no-deposit bonus of 50 free spins at their online casino. It’s part of their welcome offer to new players.

Deposit Bonus

Deposit bonuses are when new users have their first deposit matched up to a maximum amount in bet credits.

Hard Rock Casino currently runs a deposit bonus where they will provide a 100% match on a deposit of up to $1,000. This means that if you put in $1,000, you’ll get $1,000 in free bets. If your deposit exceeds this maximum amount, you will still receive $1,000.

Second-Chance Bet

A second-chance bet is when your first bet is insured up to a maximum if it loses. These are provided to you in bet credits. It’s a great offer because you’ll be able to place a wager without incurring personal financial risk.

Hard Rock Bet provides a $100 second-chance bet, so if your first bet loses and it is $100, you will get $100 in bet credits. If your first bet is below $100, you’ll get whatever that amount is back in free bets.

If you’re in a state where the casino does not operate, you can get a first bet match of up to $100 on the Hard Rock Bet.

My Hard Rock App Experience

Hard Rock Bet is available for download in your smartphone’s app store and can be accessed on your standard web browser. The app is available for both Android and iOS devices and took me approximately 20 seconds to download to my iPhone.

It was very easy to use once I was signed up with an account. While it may seem a bit confusing at first glance, once you successfully log in, the app is almost self-explanatory for usage considering the excellent labeling done within it. The different betting markets are well-organized and constructed to make it easy to find.

Placing bets is extremely easy and is like most other betting sites. When clicking on a potential wager within the app, you can then proceed to put in your desired dollar amount and the details will show up on the specific bet. You can then go on to submit that if the ticket is to your liking and your bet is placed. Promotions are listed as a subheading in the app as well as information on free contests offered by the book.

Overall, I thought this book was pretty solid and would be excellent for someone who is just starting out in the sports betting world.

Should You Bet at Hard Rock Bet?

As previously mentioned, I believe this book is excellent for a beginner in sports betting. The primary reasons I say that are because of the book’s relatively free-flowing interface on both the app and website in addition to the simplicity of placing actual bets. The site has fewer markets and bet types in comparison to some prominent books as well, leading me to believe this is better suited for someone who is not a heavy bettor.

I would highly recommend adding Hard Rock Bet to your arsenal of sites, as having multiple is always a good idea for odds shopping. From what I have seen personally, Hard Rock typically has the same odds as other leading operators, but with foreign markets being noticeably more bettor-friendly.

This book gets good marks from me, but it must be noted that it is relatively new and still a work in progress. You have to be feeling optimistic about the future of the site considering its early stages in development.

Bet Types

Hard Rock offers a standard slate of bet types. You’ll find a description of each below.

Moneyline: Bet on the outright winner of the game. You don’t need your team to win by an assigned winning margin. Underdogs have plus odds, providing higher payouts, while favorites have minus odds, meaning that you risk more than you win.

Point Spread: Each team has a point spread, which is the projected winning margin. The favorite is minus the spread, meaning they must win by more than the margin. The underdog has plus the spread, so they can win outright or lose by less than the margin for your bet to hit.

Totals: Bet Over or Under the assigned total, which is the combined score of both teams. You can bet on the full game total, or by quarter, period, or half. There are also team totals, which refer to the specific score for each side.

Props: These can be related to players or teams. Bettors select Over or Under the assigned prop. For example, one prop could be the Over on LeBron James’ points in a specific game. A team prop could be the Cincinnati Bengals Under 2.5 sacks in a game.

Parlays: Choose multiple bets to combine into one wager for higher payouts. You need to hit every bet in order to win your parlay. Your payout depends on the odds of each bet and number of wagers within your parlay.

Rewards System

Hard Rock offers a rewards system on their website that is described as “the most lucrative rewards program in Iowa/New Jersey/Arizona”. It is explicitly stated in the description that comp points are applied to a Rock Star Rewards account for every wager placed. This means that you can earn a complimentary stay at one of their properties.

Customer service is great at Hard Rock. On their website, they provide an email, a live chat link, and a toll-free phone number that can be used for assistance with the book at any time.
