The Three Lions of England are set to take on Senegal in the Round of 16 at the 2022 World Cup on Sunday, Dec. 4. The match will take place at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, Qatar.
England are fresh off a 3-0 victory over Wales, winning Group B, while the Lions of Teranga narrowly qualified for the Round of 16 by defeating Ecuador in their final group stage match.

England vs Senegal Prediction
England 2-0 Senegal
The Three Lions have looked solid on defense after conceding two goals to Iran in their opening match, England has produced two consecutive clean sheets over the United States and Wales.
The match should remain competitive from whistle to whistle, with Senegal boasting premium talents such as Kalidou Koulibaly, Abdou Diallo, and Ismaila Sarr. Unfortunately, the absence of star attacker Sadio Mané puts them at an extreme disadvantage.
England has scored nine goals in three matches while getting solid contributions across the board. It will be interesting to see what starting XI Southgate plans to install against Senegal following his midfield and forward adjustments against Wales.
After seeing hardly any action in the first two matches, Manchester City’s Phil Foden came on to score against the Welsh side, in addition to Marcus Rashford.
In addition, Kyle Walker returned from injury at right back, giving the Three Lions another strong defensive option alongside Kieran Trippier and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Overall, England is likely to outclass Senegal across the pitch due to their superior roster. Just don’t be surprised if the Lions of Teranga keep it close until late in the match.
