Jahan Dotson is a receiver with adequate size at 5-foot-11, 178 pounds and good speed with a 4.43 40 time. Dotson had a breakout year as a season, putting up 91 catches for 1,182 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Scouts describe him as a finesse receiver who can make an impact all over the field. He’s a silky-smooth route runner who has strong separation skills along with the athleticism to make defenders miss after the catch.
Jahan Dotson NFL Draft Outlook
The Washington Commanders took Jahan Dotson with the 16th pick after trading down from 11, making him the fourth wideout off the board. Washington desperately needed some help alongside Terry McLaurin.

While McLaurin will dominate targets for the Commanders, Dotson has a chance to make an impact as a complementary piece. He can replace Dyami Brown in the top-three, as the Year-2 wideout didn’t show much in his rookie season.
Jahan Dotson Fantasy Football WR Tips
Dotson doesn’t profile as a potential alpha wide receiver one like others in this class such as Drake London, Garrett Wilson, or Treylon Burks. The former Penn State star looks like more of a volatile option who is best suited for Best Ball leagues.
It’s hard to envision this Commanders offense as a pass-heavy scheme, so there may not be enough volume for Dotson to make enough of an impact in his rookie year, especially with Curtis Samuel coming back from injury.
In dynasty leagues, you have to be encouraged by the first-round draft capital, so he’s firmly in play as a second rounder. While I don’t think that he’ll ever be able to turn into a top target in a passing game, he can definitely develop into a solid WR2 in the right scheme.
