Evan Fournier Traded: Orlando Magic forward Evan Fournier is reportedly being traded for two second-round picks to the Boston Celtics, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Magic, currently the No. 14 seed in the Eastern Conference, seem to be sellers at today’s NBA trade deadline, already moving All-Star center Nikola Vucevic and reportedly looking to move Aaron Gordon.
The Celtics, on the other hand, are gaining a solid roleplayer who is averaging almost 20 points per game this season.
Evan Fournier Trade: Fantasy Basketball Outlook
Fournier now joins a Boston team headlined by Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Kemba Walker. This is a much more talented Celtics lineup than what Fournier was involved in during his time in Orlando.
Though he might hover around the top 150 players most weeks, fantasy basketball players should expect his production and scoring to dip slightly. There’s only one basketball.
Boston Celtics & Orlando Magic: NBA Betting Outlook
The Boston Celtics have been underwhelming throughout their first 44 games this season. They are currently the No. 8 seed in a weak Eastern Conference. Despite this, once the playoffs kick-off, the Celtics have the firepower to compete for an Eastern Conference title.
Currently, PointsBet gives the Celtics +3300 odds to win the NBA Championship. Boston needs to get past Philadelphia and Brooklyn in the Eastern Conference, but the 76ers are dealing with an injured Joel Embiid (bone bruise) while the Nets are currently without Kevin Durant (hamstring) and Kyrie Irving (personal).
With the injuries in the East, and uncertainty in the West, the Celtics could be a sleeper pick.
The Orlando Magic seem to be sellers at the deadline, moving many key pieces and looking towards building for the future. Avoid Orlando bets, unless it’s for the NBA lottery.
