Gonzaga vs Creighton Bet: 2021 March Madness Sweet 16 Pick & Prediction

Last Updated: Mar 26, 2021

Gonzaga vs Creighton Bet: 2021 March Madness Sweet 16 Pick. The first weekend of the NCAA Tournament is in the books and we are onto the Sweet 16! While Creighton’s win was historic for its program’s history, they now face the West Region’s top overall seed in Gonzaga.

Gonzaga remains steady in its pursuit of a perfect season, and they have been the most dominant team in the tournament. With two easy wins over Norfolk State and Oklahoma, Creighton faces a tough task. The Bluejays arguably had an easier path, but really struggled against UC Santa Barbara, before defeating Ohio by 14.

What can we expect from either team in this Gonzaga vs Creighton matchup? Let’s take a look.

(Odds current as of Wednesday, March 24, at noon ET.)

Let’s be honest, Creighton doesn’t belong in the Sweet 16. They are lucky to be here and should be happy to watch this Gonzaga team up close. Outside of that, they probably shouldn’t look forward to this game.

Are the Bluejays capable of beating the Bulldogs? Sure. They have a balanced offensive attack and, when dialed in, they can hit three-point shots in bunches.

However, anything Creighton can do, it feels like Gonzaga can do it better. The Zags are the top-rated offensive team in the country, per KenPom, and ranking the fourth-fastest in tempo is what makes them so dangerous. On top of that, they are eighth in defense.

Hopefully Drew Timme doesn’t shave off his mustache, as it could be his source of power. Even still, Gonzaga has the best player on the floor in Corey Kispert, who has hit 10-of-17 shots from downtown in the tournament thus far.

Oklahoma had the make-up to challenge Gonzaga but still lost by 16. This could be a 20-point game.
