Dolphins Sign Will Fuller
The Dolphins signed Fuller to add one of the premier deep threats in the NFL to an offense that includes promising pass-catchers like DeVante Parker, Mike Gesicki, and Preston Williams. This is a talented player who really broke out in 2020 before his season-ending suspension.
The Dolphins really need to determine whether Tua Tagovailoa is the answer at quarterback, so adding one of the better wide receivers on the market should help put him develop as a passer. Fuller just needs to stay healthy, which has proven to be difficult throughout his career, as he’s only played 14 games once out of five seasons.
Fuller caught 53-of-75 targets for 879 yards and eight touchdowns in only 11 games for the Texans last season. He can definitely repeat these numbers, as he has the opportunity to surpass Parker as the top option on the perimeter for the Dolphins. Fuller provides this team with a more proven target, so we can project improvement from this offense.
Miami 2021 NFL Betting Outlook
Miami is currently listed at (+300) to win the AFC East and (+2500) to win the Super Bowl on BetMGM, but I wouldn’t recommend either of these bets. Instead, I would wait to see how the draft plays out and monitor the team’s season win total.
I would expect Miami’s win total to end up anywhere between 7.5 to 8.5 games.
The Dolphins benefitted from a weak AFC East last season, but that won’t be the case in 2021. The Bills remain the class of the division. The Patriots made several key additions throughout their roster, so we can reasonably project them to be back on the playoff radar. Even the Jets will be improved with their high draft capital and the addition of Corey Davis.
The jury is still out on Tua as the starting quarterback, so there’s really not much value in laying a bet on the Dolphins to win the division. If their season wins total lands at 8.5, I’d be interested in going with the under because this is a team that overachieved last season.

Will Fuller 2021 Fantasy Football Outlook
Fuller finished as the WR8 in PPR points per game last season, but he’s getting a significant downgrade at quarterback in Miami. Deshaun Watson is one of the best downfield passers in the NFL, so he perfectly aligned with Fuller’s skillset. There are concerns about Tua’s ability to throw it deep, which could ultimately cap Fuller’s ceiling in 2021.
Having said that, there is still an opportunity for Fuller to establish himself as the number-one target for Tua. Fuller has a chance to match his 21 percent target share that he posted this past season. We also have to consider that this is a one-year, “prove it” deal, so Fuller will have a chip on his shoulder to establish his value and cash in next offseason.
This move will pay major dividends on Tua’s development as a passer. I think we can give the former Alabama star a mulligan for last season’s disappointing production. Tua had to deal with rehabbing his injury and a disruptive offseason in his rookie campaign. I expect things to be back to normal for this offseason which will help Tua improve on his rookie production.
I would consider Fuller an upside player on the WR2/3 in season-long fantasy football this year. This is not the best landing spot for him, as staying with Watson in Houston would have been better, but Fuller can still put up solid production in Miami.
