The last time these two teams squared off during Week 17, they combined for eight touchdowns as Cincinnati prevailed in a 34-31 barnburner. Given that both teams ranked top-7 in scoring during the regular season, such an outcome was hardly surprising.
While we may not see the same level of fireworks here, both offenses are extremely dangerous and can be counted on to put up points. Neither team’s defense is able to match up schematically against the opposing offense, so this may become a situation where whoever has the ball last will win.
Based on the high projected total on our NFL gameday odds, both teams are likely to approach or exceed 30 points. Buckle up for another exciting shootout at Arrowhead.

Tee Higgins: Anytime Touchdown (+170)

Speaking of touchdowns, let’s talk about Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins for a second.
After notching just one catch for 10 yards against the Las Vegas Raiders in the Wild Card Round, Higgins bounced back for 96 receiving yards on seven receptions against the Tennessee Titans. While he did not find the end zone against Tennessee, his heavy usage was encouraging.

Look for the Chiefs’ defense to key in on Ja’Marr Chase here after his monster performance against them, giving Higgins more room to operate and potentially find the end zone. Similar to how Gabriel Davis benefitted from Kansas City’s coverage of Stefon Diggs last week, Higgins should be able to exploit the holes in the Chiefs’ secondary.

Mahomes has settled down after throwing 10 interceptions during his first eight games of the season, getting picked off just once over his last five games combined. Burrow has been even better, throwing just one interception over his past six games.
Both of these quarterbacks make smart decisions and know how to take care of the football. They’re also not likely to see a lot of pressure from these defenses, which will be more focused on trying to cover the likes of Chase, Higgins, Tyreek Hill, and Travis Kelce downfield.
While there’s certainly a chance of a stray interception given the high volume of passes we’re likely to see, the odds make this worth rolling the dice on for our NFL bet of the day.
