Raiders vs Giants Predictions Week 9 | NFL Pick of the Day

Last Updated: Nov 5, 2021

The surprise Las Vegas Raiders (5-2) will head to New York to face the rebuilding Giants (2-6) in Week 9 of the NFL season.

The Raiders have been better than expected this season and look playoff-bound as currently constructed. However, the team has been in the headlines this week, and not for a good reason.

Second-year wideout Henry Ruggs III has been arrested and released by the team, and it will be interesting to see how this affects the on-field product of the Raiders and the team’s focus.

A distraction of this nature can cost teams their entire season. Couple the Ruggs incident with the recent firing of head coach Jon Gruden for more bad reasoning, and there is a recipe for disaster here. Only time will tell.

New York is currently dealing with a surplus of injuries to their offense, including Saquon Barkley (ankle). The Giants’ injury report is something to monitor as we get closer to Sunday as it could play a huge role in this one from a betting perspective.

Either way, this figures to be a lopsided matchup as long as the Raiders can keep trucking ahead.

Please note that all Raiders vs. Giants odds are current as of 1:00 p.m. EST on Friday, November 5.

Raiders vs. Giants Prediction

I’m a big fan of the Raiders this season. Despite the headlines swirling around them, they have persevered, and I’m expecting them to do the same with the recent news.

Derek Carr has continued to perform well and maintains the status as one of the most underrated quarterbacks in the NFL. Coming off of a bye, I expect this Raiders squad to be firing on all cylinders on both sides of the ball.

The Giants will likely be missing a huge chunk of their offense on Sunday, with Kadarius Toney, Kenny Golladay, Dante Pettis, and Barkley all listed as questionable on the injury report.

I believe the Raiders win this game even if the Giants’ offense is at full health. This team is just too good, and the two-week break for star tight end Darren Waller will be instrumental in getting him back on track. However, the Giants did play the Kansas City Chiefs tough last week and could be a moral shifter for them.

Prediction: Raiders 24, Giants 17

Raiders vs. Giants Best Bets

Best Bet: Raiders -3 (-120) at Caesars

I have the Raiders not just winning this game but also covering comfortably. The Giants are better than their record indicates, but the Raiders are as good as theirs says they are.

Ruggs’ targets will have to go somewhere, and I’m expecting it to be a mix between the talented wide receiver Hunter Renfrow and star tight end Darren Waller. They have pieces around the offense to supplement like Bryan Edwards, and it will be interesting to see who lines up in the slot this Sunday.

Still, I’m backing the Raiders to cover this one and likely win by a touchdown or more.

Best Bet: Under 46.5 Points (-110) at Caesars

The Raiders’ offense will have a new look to it this Sunday, and I don’t expect them to pile points on the board as they figure things out. The Giants being without a lot of their offensive pieces has me confident in this under, as well.

Derek Carr and company can push through adversity as they have shown, but Henry Ruggs III represented a key part of their receiving corps. This will undoubtedly hurt the team from a football perspective, not just an off-the-field perspective.

I’m backing the under in this game, which is a tough play to make considering just how low the total is, but I think this exact matchup fits the bill.
